Subject : RFI #001 - Concrete Beam Interference with Ductwork
We are the Mechanical Subcontractor for the above-mentioned project. We are currently
installing the ductwork in the underground parking garage as per the IFC Mechanical
drawings.
However, we have encountered an issue with a structural concrete beam, cast-in to the
ground floor slab, that is interfering with the installation of the HVAC system. The depth of
the concrete beam does not match what is shown on the Mechanical drawings. Please
refer to the attached sketches for clarification.
We are unable to finish the installation in accordance with the design because of this
difference, which is creating a conflict between the ductwork and the beam. Our team is
waiting on details and guidance before moving forward.
Please provide us with a resolution to this issue as soon as possible. We request a response
by February 23, 2024, to avoid any further delays and costs.
Sincerely,

Hi Professor,
I am writing to inform you that I have drafted a Request for Information (RFI). The
RFI is about a drawing discrepancy that we encountered on the job site, where a concrete
beam is interfering with the ductwork installation.
I have attached the RFI document to this email for your review and feedback. Please let
me know if you have received it and if you have any comments or suggestions on how to
improve it.
Sincerely,
