PROJECT DESCRIPTION
The Project involved construction of five storey residential flat at Ngala Estate, Nakuru. We were
contacted to carry out geotechnical investigations for the proposed site.
Civil works undertaken are as follows,
 Researched soil quality and stress-bearing factors determining stress failure and settlement
failure.
 Researched and compared the analytical approach proposed by Eurocode 7 with
prescriptive approach for carrying out geotechnical design calculations.
 Developed an excel spread sheet for calculating bearing capacity using analytical approach
and prescriptive approach
Supervision works during construction period.

 Ensured building regulations were all met and provided thorough directions with any unusual
or difficulty engineering issue that could arose on site.

The Project involved the design, detailing and supervision of petrol Station Works located along
Nakuru –Eldoret highway Salgaa area.
Civil works undertaken are as follows,
 Design, supervision and construction of acceleration and deceleration Lanes for entry and
exit to the station.
 Design, supervision and construction of underground fuel tank farm.
 Design, supervision and construction of surface and underground drainage on the forecourt
area also design and construction of Ducts routes for all mechanical and electrical services.
 Design of interceptor chamber,
 Earthworks: - removal of black cotton soil and backfilling with marrum soil in compacted
layers of 200mm thick for 1.5m height of backfill.
