Endnote 2: I realize the phrase ‘Good Teaching’ is loaded with subjectivity and may be

unacceptable to some. However, the word ‘good’ is probably the most frequently used
scale point to indicate an acceptable or expected level of performance in learner and peer
evaluations of teaching. In most instances, the qualifier ‘good’ corresponds to a quality
of teaching that is more than adequate, though not necessarily outstanding or excellent.
In my experience, it is also the threshold that all teachers are expected to achieve,
regardless of their context or disciplinary home.
