Steel member fabricated at Murinda Steel Plant. Erection will be executed after steel struc-
ture element delivered to site. Erection method decribed below :
1. The erection shall be carried out by an experience erection crew, properly equipped.
2. The steel work shall be erected in approved manner so that excessive stress shall cause
in any number.
3. Structural steel frames shall be accurately assembled to the lines and elevations indi -
cated., within the specified erection tolerances.
4. Structures shall be aligned and inspected.
5. Aligned position shall be maintained accurately during bolting and welding work.
6. All anchor bolts at column base shall be tightened immediately after alignment of struc-
tures.
7. To safeguard against gusts, earthquakes, or other sudden loads during erection, the steel
shall be supported with wire rope, hemp rope, turnbuckles, etc.
8. Temporary bolts and welds for erection shall be of sufficient strength to withstand erec-
tion loads.
9. The various members forming parts of a complete frame or structure after being assem-
bled, shall be aligned and adjusted accurately before being fastened.
10. Fastening of splices of compression members shall be done after the abutting surfaces
have been brought completely into contact
11. Bearing surfaces and surfaces which will be in permanent contact shall be cleaned be-
fore the members are assembled.
12. Final connections shall be made after pexpendicularity and deviations have been com-
pletely corrected.
13. Erection bolts used in welded construction shall be either tightened securely and left in
place or removed and the holes fined with plug welds, according to the request by Con-
tractor.
14. Ladders, lugs and hooks welded to structures for the purpose of erection and safety in
accordance with the construction drawings shall be remained, unless otherwise speci-
fied or requested.
15. High strength bolts to be employed as permanent materials shall not be used for erec-
tion purpose during the work.
16. If the subcontractor find out the damaged steel structure and or steel number in the stor-
age/lay down area, the subcontractor shall immediately notify to Contractor. Contractor
shall immediately give repair order to subcontractor or supplier of steel structure.
17. After completion of the alignment of items to be installed on foundations, grout shall be
worked carefully into the space between the base plates and the foundation top by a
proper method so as to leave no air pockets. All pipe rack structures shall be grouted
before erection of any pipes and equipment.

1.1 As per Fig 1 insert the bolt into the connection and place the washer,
bevelled side outermost, onto the bolt followed by the nut. Nut markings
should be outermost to ensure Quality Assurance is visible. If two
washers are being used, ensure the washer under the bolt head is placed
bevelled side facing the bolt head.
1.2 The non-impacting electric shear wrench has two sockets which operate in oppos-
ing directions; engage the inner socket over the bolt spline and the outer socket
over the nut (Fig 2). Ensure that both inner and outer sockets are fully engaged be-
fore proceeding.
1.3 Press the power switch. The outer socket rotates clockwise and tightens the nut
whilst the inner socket holds the bolt spline (only one socket can move at any one
time). When the correct preload is reached the outer socket stops rotating, the inner
socket counter rotates and shears the spline off (Fig 3)
1.4 Stop the wrench and pull the outer socket off the nut. The spline is
retained in the inner socket. The wrench has a second trigger to eject the spline
safely (Fig 4). Ensure that the wrench motor has come to rest prior to engaging the
next bolt.
D. Allowable Tolerance
1. Tolerance for Beam and Column
6. SAFETY
For steel structure erection process, suitable barricade shall be provided around perimeter
building the erection.
All Worker must be wear safety equipment, scaffolding must be proper installation with
safety railing.
To prevent injuries, worker must be inducted before erection started. The supervisor must
have safety meeting with foreman at east 5 minute on site.
Electric tool that is used must be check carefully to prevent electric shock accident
Access road for erection crane must not slippery.
