\ life. It's my pamasahe to go to school, pang

Money, it’s our need to go necessity in everyday
libre kay crush, and even giving free food during my birthday. From it, I often dive into the
mystery of how a simple paper bill can alter the course of our lives.
Money has been around since the dark ages. It buys the stuff we need, gives us choices, and,
yeah, it can definitely put a smile on our faces. But does it guarantee happiness? That's where
things get interesting.
See, there's this idea that the more money you have, the happier you'll be. And sure, having
enough is needed to cover your basic needs and maybe a bit more can make life easier.
However, here's the twist: after a certain point, more money doesn't necessarily mean more
happiness.
Now, a scenario I like to call "Buy a Phone, get 1 day of happiness for free." Imagine that you
got the latest phone with the best features, showing it to your friends, how it can give you an
advantage in online games and even school work; then after a while, the excitement fades, and
it's onto the next thing again.
Researchers call that the "hedonic treadmill" - the idea that we adapt to new stuff, and the
happiness boost doesn't stick around for so long. The feeling of surprise and happiness
declines to the set point of emotions we originally had before.
I have just turned 18, and my parents still support my financial dilemma as a grade 12 student.
I've yet to experience a job or even earn money for myself, so what would I know. Well, I do
know what makes me truly happy, and it doesn't really revolve much around money. It would be
my dog "Cody," the unforgettable experience I have with my friends, and even the family time I
rarely get.
Now, I'm not saying money doesn't matter. Because it really does. But maybe it's not the main
ingredient in the happiness recipe. Think about it. What really makes your day? Is it the stuff
you buy, or is it hanging out with friends, doing something you love, or feeling appreciated?
It's about finding that balance, knowing that money's cool and all but let us not take it as a front
seat in our pursuit of happiness. It's about appreciating the small things, our scores on short
quizzes, the chismisan of the teachers, our crush, and every other moment that make us feel
alive.
So, think of it well: When you do have that money, is it worth more than happiness? the same
as happiness? or is it nothing compared to happiness?

Thank you for listening!
