1.0 PLATE WORKS
Supply of steel plates of grade IS:2062 Gr B as per vendor approved drawing . Design, fabrication, laying/ erection & welding of the
following components of the tanks as per API‐650 11th Edition. Rates to include cutting the plates as per the approved drawing,
squaring, making V grooves wherever required, marking the plates for identification, lifting & placing the plates in position by
any approved methods and welding complete as per specifications. Rate to include DP test / Oil chalk test for shell to bottom
joint . For shell to bottom welding joint, low hydrogen electrodes will have to be used. Radiography of shell joints shall be carried
out including supply of films for product tanks and the same shall be included in the rate. Procedure and extent of radiographic
inspection and testing of radiographs shall be as stipulated in API 650 11th edition.
NOTE:
1) For fabrication details reference shall be made to technical specifications and approved vendor drawings. In case of any
discrepancy between technical specification and drawing, the technical specification shall be taken as binding on the contractor.
2) Design / Drawings approval shall be as per technical specification.

2.00 STRUCURALS WORK
DESIGN, SUPPLY AND FABRICATION ETC. OF STRUCTURALS WORK
"Design, supply, fabrication, erection of structurals such as support angle, rim angle, spiral stairway,hand rails, MS square rods,
platforms, MS gratings, wind girder supports,anchor chair, fasteners, shell extention supports for foam nozzles,bracings and
supports, stiffeners, gussets,etc for below mentioned tanks. The work shall be completed in all respect as per approved vendor's
fabrication drawings and technical specification and direction of the Engineer‐in‐Charge.

NOTES:
1 The cost of MS bolts (permanent and service), washers, electrodes, putty, gases, shims, packs, cost of straightening the raw MT 36 0.00
materials, cutting of flats from plates and providing splices, tools, plants, testing of materials, etc and all other consumables as
required for the work shall be deemed to be included in the quoted rates.
2 All handling and transport charges of raw materials and fabricated structures including double handling, as required, for
completion of work in accordance with time schedule, are deemed be included in the quoted rates.
3 The Schedule of Rates shall be read in conjunction (not in isolation) with the contract agreement such as scope of works.
Tender drawings, technical specification, approved makes as per contract agreement.
3.00 TANK APPURTENANCES
DESIGN, SUPPLY & FABRICATION ETC TANK APPURTENANCES
Design, supply, fabrication, welding, erection, testing of the following appurtenances. Rate shall include supply fabrication and
welding of neck rings, seamless pipes, bolting flanges with bolts, nuts, gaskets etc. as per approved vendor's fabrication drawings
complete as per specification.

3.2 NOZZLES FOR TANKAGE WORK
SUPPLY, FABRICATION OF OTHER NOZZLES FOR TANKAGE WORK
Nozzle with trough, nozzle with reinforcement pad plate, fabricated nozzle/ with plates / seamless nozzle, ASA class 150 slip on
flanges with drilled holes as per ANSI‐B‐16.5 semi circular anti splash trough inside the tank, washers, flanges. Reinforcement pad
shall be tested with soap solution by applying pressure of 1.05 kg/sq.cm before hydro testing.

4.00 TESTING OF TANKS
4.1 BOTTOM TESTING OF WELDING JOINTS

Testing the welding joints of the tank bottom with vacuum box method up to a vacuum of 5 PSI or by air compressor method. Rate
to include arrangement of all equipment like glass box, compressor rubber tubes, torchlights and mud packing complete as per EA 2 0.00
specifications. Refer technical specification.
4.2 HYDROSTATIC TESTING OF TANK SHELL
Hydrostatic testing of tank shell by filling water to maximum level. Rate to include supply and filling of water up to maximum level,
observing for weld joint leaks or plate leaks if any. Hammering the joints as per the directions of Engineer‐in‐charges, decanting

water after successful completion of testing, cleaning the bottom, shell and roof and drying it completely as per specifications.
Refer to technical specification. Necessary piping, arrangement of water is also in contractor' s scope.
4.3 TANK CALIBRATION
Supply and erection of float type mechanical level gauge. Physical calibration of tank bottom by water meter up to the datum plate.
Rate to include arrangement of equipment and necessary pumping water, taking readings as directed and presenting the same
etc.Calibration of tank shell using strapping tape when the tank full with water. Rate to include supply and erection of necessary
scaffolding platforms, taking readings at top and bottom of each shell strake after applying sufficient pull by spring balance and
presenting results as directed.Refer to technical specification and calibration of tanks as per IS: 2007 and 2008 and CPWD certification. EA 2 0.00

Note: In case of any leaks observed during any of the above tests contractor shall decant the water at his own cost to the
satisfaction of the engineer‐in‐charge. Contractor shall repeat the process till all the leaks are rectified.

5.00 PAINTING
1. Contractor to arrange for Elcometer at site for checking paint thickness after each coat of primer/ paint and the same to be kept at site till job
is completed.

2. Contractor shall clearly indicate in the offer the make, from approved
list, of paints proposed to be used by him for the job.

Note: Payment for Paintings SOR will be made on actual surface area of tank shell measured only once. No separate measurment will be taken
for nozzles, Shell / roof appurtenances, tank body valves, roof top railings, staircases, landing platforms, stairs, tank‐mounted pipelines & steel
supports for Wind Girders,structural supports/ brackets/ ribs, bottom plate projections, spiral staircases including steps from walkway to Gauge
Well Pipe for of all the tanks for payment purposes. However, Area of Walkway cum wind girder will be measured separately . All supporting
structures deemed to be included in the measured area.
PAINTING_SURFACE PREPARATION

Preparation of external surfaces of tank shell, Bottom (Underside) wind girders, roof ( top surface of deck ), shell and roof
appurtenances,& nozzles and internal surface of shell and nozzle by copper slag Blast cleaning thoroughly to SSPC‐SP‐10 OR SA 2.5 of
Swedish Ivonsk Standard SIS 055900‐1967 to bare metal to ensure thorough cleaning of surfaces to receive paints as per
specifications. Rate to include for providing and fixing scaffolding & curtaining in an approved manner and cleaning of Tank farm

Note: Contractor to arrange and keep at site relevant Swedish photographic standards for inspection by GAIL/VCS Site incharge

PAINTING_EXTERNAL
EXTERNAL PAINTING FOR CARBON STEEL CONE ROOF, ABOVE GROUND TANKS FOR WATER TANKS:‐

Painting the external surfaces of all the type of carbon steel tanks such as external surface of cone roof Vertical tanks which includes shell area
and roof area, steel stair case and railings, wind giders, all MS structures & pipelines attached to tanks from the outer shell, tank shall be clean
and surface preparation shall be as per specification of Sa‐2.5 standard (Copper Slag Blast Cleaning and painting with 2 coat of epoxy Zinc

phosphate primer (P6) of 35 microns and 1 coat of Epoxy High Building Coating (F6) to a DFT of 100 μ per coat and 1 coat of Acrylic
Polyurethane paint of 40 μ to a Total DFT of minimum 210μ.The colour of paint is to be got approved by the EIC before commencement of work.
The water tank is normally painted with sky blue . The work should be carried out with all safety standards complete in all respect including
supply of all required labours , Scafolding, materials, paints, tools & tackles as per scope and specification of this tender and direction of
Engineer in charge.
INTERNAL PAINTING OF STORAGE TANKS:
Internal painting (Full Painting) of Carbon steel tanks etc :
Painting surfaces such as Underside of tank roof, Upperside of Bottom plates,inner surface of Shell upto first strake or complete inside shell
plate as may be decided, underside surface of roof plate, all inside steel structures and inside appurtenances including all exposed surfaces of

5.7 SUPPLY & PAINTING LOGO SIGN

6.0 CIVIL WORKS FOR TANKAGE
6.1 TANK PADS (SPEC.NO. VPC‐SPC‐CV‐009)
Supplying and laying 40mm down size graded stone ring for Tank Pads in layers not more than 250mm compacted and compacting alongwith
6.1.1 sand as finer stone aggregate to fill the voids, including all labour, material, tools, including cutting trenches, supporting the sand suitably, M3 75 0.00

6.2 EARTHWORK IN SITE GRADING

clearing and stripping etc. in excavation areas, removing shrubs, grass, bushes, vegetable growth and other objectionable materials, trees upto
and inclusive of a girth of 30 cms. (girth measured at a height of one metre above ground level) including uprooting of roots, etc., dewatering, if
necessary, sorting out the excavated soil into serviceable and unserviceable materials in excavation areas and including filling in filling areas
with serviceable material for general site grading and roads for all heights and depths to proper levels, slopes, grades and camber including

Earth work in EXCAVATION below ground level for all kinds of works in ALL TYPES OF SOILS EXCEPT SOFT ROCK AND HARD ROCK as classified in
specification for a depth upto 1.5m including removal of vegetation, shrubs and debris, cutting and dressing of sides in slopes, levelling, grading
6.3.1 and ramming of bottoms, dewatering of accumulated water from any source and keeping the surface dry for subsequent works and disposal or M3 1620 0.00
