Ans : (i) 0.26 (ii) 0. 72
22. A shopkeeper sells three types of flower seeds
A1, A2, A3. They are sold in the form of a
mixture, where the proportions of these seeds
are 4: 4: 2, respectively. The germination rates
of the three types of seeds are 45%,
60% 𝑎𝑛𝑑 35% respectively.
Based on the above information:
(i) Calculate the probability that a randomly chosen seed will germinate;
(ii) Calculate the probability that the seed is of type A2, given that a randomly chosen seed
germinates

eight rectangular side faces. It has 24 edges and 16 vertices.

The prism is rolled along the rectangular faces and number on the bottom face (touching the
ground) is noted. Let X denote the number obtained on the bottom face and the following table
give the probability distribution of X.

X 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8

P(X) p 2p 2p p 2p p2 2 p2 7p2 + p
