Course Description/Overview:
The course is designed to ensure that students are equipped with the knowledge and the right tools
and techniques for costing contracts and projects as well as ensuring value in the utilisation of public
funds and other resources.

Course Learning Objectives


 To Identify key cost components for projects in contracts
 To Set clear efficiency expectations for all stakeholders
 To Avoid control ‘scope creep’ due to transparencies established with customers
 To Maintain expected margin, increase return on investment

Expected Learning Outcomes


A the end of the study, students should be able to identify the right tools and techniques for
costing contracts and ensurimg value for momey in the procurement of projects.

Mode of Delivery
The mode of delivery will include, classroom teaching (including PowerPoint presentations),
demonstration, interactive discussions, group work, assignments, case studies and peer
learning.

Course Assessment
Students in this course will be assessed through:
1. Continuous Assessments 40%
a) Attendance and participation 10%
b) Individual assignments 15%
c) Group assignments and presentations 15%
2. End of Second Semester Examinations 60%
Total 100%

Pass mark
You need to obtain a minimum pass mark of 50%

All assignments MUST be submitted in hardcopy/softcopy before the class begins.

Late Assignments/Lessons
Late submission of assignments will not be entertained. Delay submission shall not be
tolerated as well.

Format for Written Assignments


All written assignments will be typed in Microsoft Word, Times New Roman, Font size 12.
Citations and Referencing style is APA 7th edition and turn it in of 20% verified
