I. General Problem

Here in the Philippines, a lot of Filipinos are struggling to understand about what
is an accurate source of informationreliable source of information, a. According to a
survey conducted by [1] SWS(Social Weather Stations (SWS) ) held in December
2021 and released on February 25. According to the survey, 48% of Filipinos find it
easy to recognize fake news on television, radio, or social media, while 51% find it
difficult to spot fake news on television, radio, or social media. Furthermore,
according to Statista [2], the Philippines is currently one of the countries with a high
level of social media usage. The survey was conducted and shows that 48% of
Filipinos find it easy to spot fake news and a majority of 51% of Filipinos find it
difficult to spot fake news on television, radio, or social media. Also according to
Statista[2], the Philippines is currently one of the countries with a lot of time spent on
social media. Filipinos are top-tier social media users, but it is lacking when it comes

General Problem

The internet is filled with vast information. There are a lot of websites,
social media pages, forums, and other digital platforms showcasing a variety
of entertainment, information, and news throughout the world. Here in the
Philippines a lot of individuals are mostly on their phones, even kids have their
gadgets with their own social media accounts. Many people in the Philippines are
glued to their phones, and even children have devices with their own social media
profiles. According to the report of Statista 2023 [31], the Philippines is in the 9th
position in the number of social media usersranks 9th in the world in terms of social
media users. But the problem here is that Filipinos are always on social media,
we tend to rely on information posted on social media without checking the
validity and sources’ reliability. And especially in the current digital era,
information is often easily accessible in huge numbers. Individuals may find it
difficult to pick out through the massive volume of data and determine what is
useful and relevant for them, which could result in information overload and
the chance to miss important developments.

II. Specific Problem

The people living inPeople of Barangay Ramon Magsaysay are having trouble
difficulty getting receiving timely information from the barangay. With more than
17,000 residents and 34,000 hectares of land, barrio Ramon Magsaysay is a large
barrio.Ramon Magsaysay is a huge barrio with around 17,000 persons and 34,000
hectares of land. Relaying information can be very difficult given the size of
Barangay Ramon Magsaysay'sits area. The current means of communication in
Barangay Ramon Magsaysaythe barangay includes a Facebook page, an
information board, an LED billboard, a liaison officer who travels the
community, and "purok leaders," a group of barangay members who spread
around the barangay and act as a gateway. However, given the size of the
barangay, not every household and place of business can be contacted or notified
via these kinds of means. However, due to the size of the barangay, not every
household or place of business may be contacted or notified using these methods.
So As a result, the methods of communicationcommunication methods are a factor
in delaying information to the residents and businesses.

the service and mode of relaying information of the Barangay. The people living in
Barangay Ramon Magsaysay and its surrounding area are unaware of the
barangay’s information relaying system and service. Barangay Ramon Magsaysay
does not have an official digital platform or a website where residents can visit
and be notified ahead when the barangay updates or has upcoming events or
programs to be held. A problem here too is if there is a problem or an emergency
you still have to go to the barangay office itself.Another issue is that you still need to
go to the barangay office in case of an emergency or crisis. But since not all
circumstances or situations are the same it can be quite hard for elderly
people, persons with disabilities and minors when emergencies occur.

[V.] General Solution

Our goal is to establish a digital platform that would enable individuals to trust one
another. Additionally, the platform shall serve as a means of communication method
where they can get reliable and up-to-date information. We want to create a digital
platform wherein people’s trust will be accomplished. And they can receive the latest
information that is accurate.
