Subject:TREE PLANTATION DRIVE WITH REGARD TO OBSERVANCE OF WORLD

FOREST DAY TO BE HELD ON 21-03-2024/ACTIVITIES TO BE HELD WITH
EFFECT FROM 18-03-2024 TO 21-03-2024
Apropos the meeting dated 16-03-204and the circulation of the minutes of
the meeting by Director Public Instruction (Colleges) on the subject noted
above.

2. The following activities are to be carried out in all the under mentioned
colleges across Lahore Division for which the worthy Principals of each college are
declared the FOCAL PERSONS for the respective Colleges and the Deputy Directors
of Education (Colleges) are declared as the FOCAL PERSONS for the respective
Districts. Miss Fizza Saeed, Assistant Director Colleges (Coordination) of the
Directorate is hereby declared as the Divisional Focal Person for the whole drive
w.e.f. 18-03-2024 to 21-03-2024 both days inclusive.

3. The Deputy Director Colleges of the Districts (Kasur, Nankana and

Sheikhupura) shall contact the District Forest Officers and shall collect the
required number of plants as indicated against each college below from the
District Forest Officers/Divisional Forest Officers on 18-03-2024 and shall transmit
to the Principals concerned.

4. The worthy Principals of the District Lahore shall depute their responsible
officers/officials to collect the required number of plants mentioned against their
colleges from the District/Divisional Forest Officers Lahore through Authority
Letter to be handed over to the officers/Officials collecting the plants on 18-03-
2024.
5. All the activities as mentioned against each college on each mentioned
date shall be performed in the college and shall be uploaded on the PITB
dashboard through an application to be shared by the Director IT of DPI Colleges
Punjab, Lahore.

6. The drive shall be given befitting coverage through print, electronic and
social media platforms. Furthermore, videos shall be made of each segment, stills
shall be taken, posters shall be used, stalls relating to the themes shall be
established in each institution having the relevant literature, standees, banners
and backdrops shall be used as per requirement of the activities.

7. The activities of plantation of trees and other segments integrated with

the activities will be monitored and checked by the 3rd Party especially the number
of plants and the locations shall be got verified by the 3rd Party.

8. The Directors, DDCs, Guests, DCs, Parliamentarians and Notables shall be

invited as per the Institutions nomenclature and convenience in all the
Educational Institutions in consultation with the DDCs concerned and the
Divisional Director of Education Colleges Lahore Division, Lahore.

9. The drive is termed as “INTERNATIONAL FOREST DAY 2024” that would

start w.e.f. 18-03-2024 and will culminate on 21st of March, 2024.

10. The slogan coined for the subject drive has been quoted as “Plant for
Pakistan”.

11. The plantation drive shall be integrated by the PITB through its Dashboard
and E-tagging, Geo-Tagging and Barcoding systems to have accuracy in the
activities with factual depiction of the activities. The application for that will be
provided along with instructional videos by the Director IT of the DPI Colleges
Punjab, Lahore.

12. The students shall take part in the activities like art work, essay writing,
seminars, poster competitions, Quizzes, models, exhibitions, walks within college
campuses and photography competitions and the same will be uploaded on the
dashboard of PITB and the best rated student through the Dashboard of PITB shall
be awarded prizes with reference to art work, essay competitions and
photography activities.

13. The record of all kinds relating to the activities like number of plants
taken, planted, location of the plants planted, photography samples, videos,
awareness plan, and all allied activities shall be recorded and uploaded by the end
users.

14. The tree plantation societies shall be made active for the sake of the
success of the drive.

15. The principals shall upload on PITB dashboard and forward the daily
activities both to the Deputy Director colleges concerned who shall forward in a
consolidated form to Directorate of Education colleges through the email address
of general branch from where Miss Fizza Saeed and Mr. Jawad Waseem shall
consolidate and send to DPI Colleges Office and to HED as per directions.
