1. What is word processor? Write example of word processor.


Ans: A word processor is a device or computer program that provides for input, editing,
formatting, and output of text, often with some additional features. It is one of the most advanced
and powerful word processing software package in the market. The functions of a word
processor program fall somewhere between those of a simple text editor and a fully
functioned desktop publishing program.
Examples: Microsoft Word Processor, Open Office Writer, Word Perfect and Google Drive
Document.
2. Define MS-Word with its features.
Ans: Used to make professional-quality documents, letters, reports, etc., MS Word is a word
processor developed by Microsoft. It has advanced features which allow you to format and edit
your files and documents in the best possible way. Its features are:

 Creating text documents


 Editing and formatting the existing documents
 Making a text document interactive with different features and tools
 Graphical documents, comprising images
 Used by Authors and Researchers
 Detect grammatical errors in a text document

3. Define following terms:


a. Header: A header is text that is placed at the top of a page, while a footer is placed at the
bottom, or foot, of a page. Typically these areas are used for inserting document
information, such as the name of the document, the chapter heading, page numbers,
creation date and the like.
b. Footer: A footer is an area at the bottom of a document page containing data common to
other pages. The information in footers may include page numbers, creation
dates, copyrights, or references that appears on a single page, or on all pages.
