4.2. Grinder
Tools : Torx screwdriver (T15)

Remove the protective


housing

Use a screwdriver to
remove the cap on the
grinder (see photo)

Unscrew the two (2)

Disconnect the grinder

IMPORTANT NOTE: first


remove the old grinder,
then the spring backing
(unclip it). This will free
up room to put in the new
grinder. Be careful not to
crease the foil on the
bottom of the chute.
Put back the backing and
the spring.
After replacing the
grinder: run a full
calibration
The white tab aligned
with the black rib and the
grind set to coarse. Clip
the cap on after checking
these two points

6. HMI configuration according with
version :
When the HMI is replaced and assembled on product, you must configurate the HMI according
with the version of Full-automatic INTUITION PREFERENCE or PREFERENCE+.

• Remove accessories (cake container and water tank).


• Plug the machine.
• Press buttons according sequence describe below :

o On model INTUITION PREFERENCE (Reference EA872x & EA873x)

Sequence : Buttons 2, 4, 3 (info : buttons 3 and 4 not visible but active).

o On model INTUITION PREFERENCE + (Reference EA875x)

Sequence : Buttons 4, 2, 3

• Unplug the machine to validate configuration.

7. Tests and check after repair :
• All products :
o Test espresso 50ml : Check volume and temperature (68°C minimum).
o Test milk frothing 25s : Check expansion rate (80% minimum)

• EA872x & EA873x :


o Test hot water 200ml : Check temperature (80°C +/-6°C)

• EA875x :
o Test Green tea 200ml : Check temperature (70°C +/-6°C)
o Test Black tea 200ml : Check temperature (80°C +/-6°C)
o Test Infusion 200ml : Check temperature (90°C +/-6°C)

8. After-sales (A/S) Mode :
8.1. Accessing A/S mode :
To access A/S mode, remove the cake bin, the tank and connect the plug to the power and
press on « ON-OFF » button.
During the start-up animation press successively on locations 1, 2, 3 and 4.

When the 4 successive presses have been taken into account, the following display appears:

Enter the code 1 2 3 4 then press OK.

8.3. Sub menu « Autotest » :
This sub-menu is used to launch a autotest (unblocking cycle) and displays the fault code
detected during this autotest.

8.4. Sub menu « Thermobloc setting » :


If during test after repair the water temperature or tea temperatures are too low or too hight, you
can adjust temperature.

The actual adjustment is show when you enter in this menu. Each adjustment of 1 change the
temperature of 2°C about.

After validation, you need to check the water temperature or tea temperature.

8.5. Sub menu « Calibration » :


After changing power card, grinder or heating element a calibration is necessary.

For this range, an alert exist for missing beans and during this calibration the electric current of
the empty grinder is measured.

Process of calibration :

Calibration start automatically.


Water go out by the steam nozzle.
Several down jack is do.
2 grindings without beans is do with water go out coffee nozzle.
A 3rd grinding alone during 4 to 14 seconds.
If a problem is detected, a 4th grinding will be done.
