Task 11 Topic: Whether or not the Philippines should have a law recognizing family rights of

same-sex partners.
Same sex parenting is frowned upon because same sex families are seen as morally
reprehensible. I believe that the Philippines should enact laws to recognize samesex couples'
family rights. Every couple, regardless of gender, has the right to have and raise a family. LGBT
parents may also educate their children. The child benefits from having parents of the same
gender because they are more accepting of differences, tolerance, individuality, and variation in
others. LGBT couples are more accepting and tolerant of others' differences. These are crucial
aspects of understanding. The majority of research findings show that children with two moms
or two fathers outperform children with heterosexual parents. One large study of children raised
by lesbian mothers or gay fathers found that same-sex children did not differ from other children
in terms of emotional functioning, sexual orientation, stigmatization, gender role behavior,
behavioral adjustment, gender identity, learning, and grade point averages. When research
differences were revealed, they sometimes benefited same-sex parents.
