Technologies for Learning and its Contribution to my Continuous Quest for

Academic Excellence

As one of the learner in the 21st century, I have noticed that teaching and
learning are constantly changing and improving, relying more with technologies.
Technology has the ability to transform our lives and help us to evolve with it,
particularly in terms of our learning and education. Technology makes things
easier for everyone to learn, work, and communicate.

As I have done my research about technologies and its different contribution for
learning, I came to realize how much technologies have helped me throughout
my academic and personal life. I have learned that technologies has contributed
and provided a lot of opportunities for learning as I also continue to strive for
academic excellence. Technologies for learning can help me enhance my
learning and make it more effective. It provides me an easy-to-access
information, accelerated learning, and fun opportunities to practice of what I have
learn just like if I wanted to go further with my learning, to research and explore
about a certain topic to deepen my understanding. Also, technologies help me to
foster not just communication but also collaboration for instance, as we are in
blended learning, technologies help me to communicate and build collaboration
with my classmates and teachers through online platforms like sharing ideas and
thoughts with my classmates and enables me to interact with my teacher one-on-
one especially if I have concerns to address on.

As I continue to reflect I come to another realization how really technologies

contributed as I am in the midst of striving for my academic excellence because
when I was in middle school, I am not very familiar with technologies and how it
works so I have to read from my different books and if I faced problem in
understanding concept, I have to ask my teacher but now through the help of
technologies I can easily get various option to solved the problems such as
watching YouTube, Google, and webinar that are available online and sometimes
in Facebook pages. Technology does not only contribute to my current learning
but also for my future growth and goals. It provided me a lot of option for my
learning purposes, widen my knowledge and allow me to be creative and
explorer, allowing me to try new things like making google forms/links, classroom
app and participate in activities that I am afraid to try on like creating blogs and
editing such as videos and pictures presentation.

In conclusion, technologies for learning contributed and provided me to look for

what is the best for me as I am continuously striving for academic excellence. Its
contribution will help to mold me as a creative and innovative student. It will make
things easier for me to go on with my future endeavors and to achieve my goals
as a learner and as a future teacher.

Abuse and Misuse of Technologies for learning: A Great Challenge for

Educative Process

As a student, technologies became one of the important needs for us learner.

The use and including technologies for learning has a lot of advantages to both
teacher and us learner. It is significant and provided great opportunities to us.
Technologies are capable of enhancing the bond between the teacher and
learner and it makes the learning more fun and interesting for us students. But,
as I continue to process and relish it advantages for learning I come up with
some realization and discoveries.

I have realized that advantages of technologies for learning comes up with

disadvantages too, such abusing and misusing that can be a great challenge for
education process. A lot of students are misusing the technologies, misusing the
freedom and opportunity that they have been blessed with, because, instead of
exploring and learning, they’re being involved in social networking sites and
chatting or calling their friends all day long. Well, I admit that I am guilty with this
too because there are a lot times that I use the technology for chatting and not
for learning or researching for my subjects. Moreover, I discovered that when
technology is used to show students what is to be learned, and then nothing else
is done to create activities for students to assess their knowledge could be a
misuse too of technologies for learning. I could say that, not all but this really
happen sometimes too in classroom such when some teacher used learning
videos in the website then just move on to the next without explaining further the
video to his/her student. As I continue to reflect, I remembered that I am one of
those students who sometimes abuse the technologies for learning such that
abusing the information that technology provided me like relying in doing my
activities and such. Students relying more in technologies to answer their quizzes
and activities is also one of the great challenge for education process.

To sum up this reflection, I have realized that in all the things that we see, do,
and use have its advantages and disadvantages. And, for some reason, we
sometimes abuse and misuse it. It will always be a challenge not just in
education but also in our life to have discipline and control in using things
especially like using technologies for learning but one thing that I realized in this
reflection is that using everything is good but in moderation so it can prevent from
abuse and misuse.

Transcending the Challenges of using Technology in learning: My Personal

Triumph!

The introduction of using technology in learning and in the classroom holds a

major part to the 21st-century learner's learning experiences. The use of
technology in learning develops new information management skills and
collaboration to all the learners. It showered both teacher and learner a lot of
opportunities and benefits that they can use in everyday life as well as in the
future.

However, just like advantages and disadvantages, benefits also come with
challenges. Using technologies in learning has its challenges to overcome and
transcend. One of these challenges is that it causes a lot of distraction to
students especially to me like using social media apps such as Facebook and
Instagram. I will able to transcend this challenge in a way of organizing my time
in which I will set time for when I should only browse my social media like for free
time only so that I can focus more on studies. Internet connection was also a
challenge of using technology in learning. I remember before how internet
connection hinders me from learning, particularly in my online classes. It causes
so much delay and it is very stressful to my part as a student, but I tried to make
way to transcend this challenge by purchasing a new sim card where the signal
is stronger than the one I had before and by connecting to my cousin's Wi-Fi
even though she's a bit far from our home so that I can learn without a hassle or
distraction.

Moreover, using the technology for online classes, activities, and being free all
the time was also a challenge to us students. I recall how I suffered a lot because
of this method of learning, but thankfully, l gradually able to transcend this
challenge by first organizing my time in doing the activities, expressing our
concerns with our teachers like if possible we could only meet online in our
scheduled time, and through receiving moral support from my family and friends.
Lastly, not having other digital tools for school such as laptop and printer was
also a great challenge, especially to us college students because this two are
important for us to be able to encode and print our activities. To transcend this
challenge, I downloaded other apps on my mobile phone that allow me to encode
my work and print it to a store that offers printing services.

In conclusion, I have felt a lot of mixed emotions as I write this reflection. This
reflection makes me realize how hard it is to transcend or overcome the
challenges of using the technology in learning. Nevertheless, I am happy with
how I have transcends and will continuously transcend to the challenges of using
the technology in learning. Now, I can assert that the things and effort that I
made to transcend those challenges are my personal triumph.
