The excavated materials will be placed minimum 1.5 meters away from the
trench. The spoilage or the excess materials that is no longer needed for back
filling will be disposed in the designated disposal area. In road closure area
excavated soil excess materials will be removed immediately from the road.
Proper hard barricades will be placed around the excavated area and put
necessary signage and warnings day & night.
Upon reaching the required elevation, raise a final inspection in order to start the
next activity.

11-5-2 Dewatering Plan (Utilization of Well Point System & Direct Suction Pump)
When water encounters during the course of excavation, put in place the
dewatering system and dispose the water in the Company approved designated
disposal area. Refer to the drawing above.
During the manual trial excavation and upon reaching to the ground water table,
the Well Point Dewatering System will be put in place.
The sequence of the excavation will continue using mechanical excavation up to
the required depth.
If the well point dewatering system is not enough to contain the water, a ditch will
be excavated at the edge of the trench for the direct water pump suction as
shown in the drawing above.

Sedimentation Tank
Temporary flow line
Existing M/H
(Storm Drain Manhole)
The existing Storm Drain Manhole along the Corniche Road will be used for the
disposal of water taken from the trench excavation. Refer to the drawing above.
The usage of the Storm Drain Manhole will be scheduled accordingly in order to
avoid overflowing in the manhole.
The schedule of the usage of Storm Drain Manhole will be based on the road
crossing excavation schedule.
On the excavation of Road Crossing #5, dewatering of the trench will be directly
disposed in the sea as the location is adjacent to the seashore line.
All water that is taken from the trench will be directly going to the sedimentation
tank before it will be disposed in the Existing Storm Drain Manhole along the
Corniche Road shown in the drawing above.
Regular maintenance clean-up will be done on the sedimentation tank from silt &
sand in order to avoid contamination and clogging in the Storm Drain Manhole.
Approval from the Ruwais Service Integration (RSI) will be needed and granted
for the usage of the Storm Drain Manhole prior to work commencement.

Upon raising final inspection to check the required excavation elevation, survey
check will be confirmed by the proper authorities. When the elevation of the
trench is confirmed, sand bedding will be placed in the trench. The excavator will
evenly place the sand in the trench. The sand bedding will be compacted w/in
the designed elevation placed and compacted in specified layers.
11-5-6 Backfilling:
Prior to the start of the backfilling work, the preceding activities shall be insured
with approved inspection; pipe laying, warning tape installation, protection layer
etc.

The backfilling shall be done using the approved materials. The backfill materials
should be screened excavated soil for up to the top of pipe. And from top of the
pipe to the ground level, screened sand materials. Refer to the drawing below.
Backfilling work will commence upon getting clearance from the preceding
activities with the concern authorities.
After laying the pipes, a layer of 200mm thickness shall be placed using the
approved backfill materials and it will be compacted up to 95% using plate
compactor or equivalent. Inspection will be done every 200mm layer of
compacted backfill. This procedure will be done up the top of the pipe.
From the top of the pipe going up to the existing ground level, the backfill
materials to be used will be screened sand which is free from mixing with stone.
Water compaction will be done on the sand backfill.
Upon reaching the required elevation of backfill, again inspection will be done on
the backfilling work.
will be placed evenly and it will be compacted to 95% maximum dry density as
per ASTM D1557.
The 250mm Base coarse materials will be placed after the inspection of the sub-
base materials. The base course will also be placed evenly and it will be
compacted 95% maximum dry density. Inspection will be conducted once
prepared.
Raise inspection prior to Asphalt Pavement of the road restoration. Upon
approval of the base preparation, prime coat will be applied on the base course
in preparation for Asphalt Pavement. After 24 hours of prime coat application,
asphalt binder course will be placed.
The asphalt binder course will be rolled & compacted. Once compacted, tact coat
will be sprayed evenly on the binder course. The asphalt wearing course will be
placed & compacted. Refer to the drawing below.
