ENVIRONMENTAL IMPACTS
In light of the present state of the environment, event organizers must confront a new
challenge, they must make an effort to reduce their environmental impact and
incorporate sustainability into their activities. It is nice to observe that a growing number
of festivals are taking green steps on their initiative and setting a good example. The
next big step for the music festival sector in the future should be to work nation by
country to develop some common green standards, particularly a basic approach to
waste management strategies, and to create a system that festival goers can become
comfortable with.Businesses such as music festivals are viewed as living entities that
consume energy and resources to produce both desired and unpleasant outputs,
including goods, services, trash, and pollution.
● Energy Use - Festivals use a lot of energy for stages, lighting, sound systems,
and facilities. This often results in excessive electricity use, which contributes to
emissions of greenhouse gasses if not produced from renewable sources.
● Waste Generation - Festivals generate a lot of garbage, including food,
disposable plastics, and packaging. Effective disposal of waste is essential for
minimizing environmental impact.
● Water Usage - In music festivals, it requires water for a variety of reasons,
including sanitation, food, and cooling systems. High water consumption can
burden local water supplies, particularly in locations where water is limited.
● Noise and Air Pollution - A loud music and sound systems may disrupt where
wildlife and residents affect their well-being. Music festivals may possess a major
influence on air pollution, owing to the high number of attendees, moving to and
from the location of the festival, and the amount of energy required to stage the
event.
SOCIAL IMPACTS
Enhance the human and economic capital of the communities they serve. They
maintain social capital to ensure people understand their objectives and align with the
principles of the business. To assess an organization's social sustainability practices,
it's important to evaluate consequences, including those on employees, direct
stakeholders, host communities, local cities, and indirectly impacted populations. To
become socially sustainable, music festivals should prioritize activities that leave a
positive impact internally and externally, rather than relying solely on charitable giving
initiatives.
● Social Challenges - Considering their positive effects, festivals can provide
social problems such as crowd control, security concerns, and inter-attendee
confrontations. Festival organizers must address these issues and ensure the
security and health of all attendees.
● Sexual Behavior - The effect of music festivals on sexual behavior varies
depending on several aspects, including the festival's culture, participants, and
individual preferences.
● Overcrowding - may cause safety risks such as making it harder to access
emergency exits, increasing the possibility of stampedes, and making it difficult
for security and medical personnel to manage the crowd during an emergency.
● Health and Safety- Evaluate the health and safety precautions that were put in
place for the event, such as crowd control, medical facilities, and emergency
response plans or any possible threats to attendees' health and precautions
against them.
ECONOMIC IMPACTS
● Job Creation - Festivals provide temporary jobs for locals, such as event staff,
security personnel, merchants, and performers.
● Displacement of Local Businesses - Throughout festivals, local businesses
might experience a slowdown in earnings as festival goers purchase merchants
on the grounds.
● Seasonal Dependence - Local economies that grow overly dependent on
festivals for financial resources may struggle during the off-season when tourist
and festival business are low.
● Costs and Displacement - Local governments may face additional costs
because of festival hosting, such as more implementation and cleanup.
Furthermore, festivals may replace regular economic operations in the area,
resulting in inconsistent economic outcomes for local firms.
Urban Development Plan ● Planning to develop the use of 1 Year before the event

growth
● It helps people in reducing
energy usage, waste, and
pollution.
Additional of Free Space ● Using of free space can help 2-3 months before the event
the organizers place the first
aid kit
● Practicing of using safety
cones and steel barricades to
prevent people inside it, and it
can be used in any emergency
situations
Job creations ● By organizing a 3-days music 5-6 months before the event
festival event, job hiring is
definitely going to happen.
There are a lot of job positions
opportunities from security
personnel, ticket and
registration staff,
photographers, and more.
● These also include the
suppliers and production of the
event such as lights and
sounds, food caterers, venue,
event staff, vendors,
merchants, and performers.
These are part of job creations
because they are paid to be
there and for the services they
are going to provide and this
comes with a possibility to be
part/hired of the upcoming
events again.
Partnerships / collaborations ● Being the organizer of the 5-6 months before the event
event, the management should
reach out to different
companies and organizations
that have the same
sustainability goals and that
would show and provide their
full support for the success of
the music events.
● Partnership or collaboration
with other companies and
organizations will make the
event more successful and
goals are more likely to be met
if both parties aim for the same
positive and fulfilling impact to
the world and to turn into more
sustainable living.
Support to the Sustainable ● By having this music festival 5-6 months before the event
Development Goals the organizer should have at
least one or two that will
support the sustainable
development goals. In this way
we can protect the
environment and use our
resources well without harming
the resources of the future
generations while also gaining
a profit. And build or create a
system that can last for a very
long time with few adverse
effects.
● To achieve economic
sustainability for this event, it
must build partnerships with
other businesses or
organizations that have the
same goals such as focus on
reducing negative
environmental impact, job
creation and opportunities for
small businesses and so on.

long-term financial viability. When taking into account aspects like cost, logistics,
development planning, and the creation of jobs through partnerships and event
organizing.

Organizational Learning
Given the necessity to implement a sustainability approach, learning is crucial for future
improvement of sustainability assessment. One of the core ideas of sustainability is
waste minimization. Organizations founded on sustainability concepts should thus learn
from previous initiatives in order to, from a portfolio view, not 'waste' energy, resources,
and materials on failing projects, and, from a single-project perspective, not spend
energy resources and materials inefficiently.
