The emergency briefing is performed by the PF in the first flight of the crew (it can be the FO or
the Captain). The only person who can abort a takeoff will be the captain, so the captain will
always pronounce the call “STOP”.
Note: words before a slash will be pronounced by the captain (for example, I will call STOP) and
words after slash (for example, you will call STOP) will be pronounced by the FO. Just one pilot
describes all the briefing bellow:
This will be a left/right seat take off. Standard callouts, standard operating procedures.
We will abort the Take off in case of any failure below 100 kt or any following situation above
100 kt and below V1:
I/You will call STOP: and simultaneously apply THRUST LEVERS IDLE and REVERSE
THRUST MAX AVAIL.
You/I will call: “REVERSE GREEN” or “NO REVERSE” and “DECEL” or “NO DECEL”
and Cancel any audio Warning.
Once stopped: I/You will stow the reverses, set the parking break and call
“ATTENTION, CREW AT STATIONS”. Your actions will be:
If my/your call is GO we will continue the take off with no other action below 400 feet,
other than:
o Retracting the gear
o Apply TOGA if required
o Canceling any aural warnings
o Advise ATC
Above 400ft:
o With a/c controlled, apply the ECAM procedure.
o Above minimum acceleration altitude and engine secured, “Push to Level off”.
o Clean up the aircraft.
o At green dot: OPEN CLIMB and MCT.
o Climb to altitude XXXX.
If we have an engine failure after V1, we will proceed on runway track for 25nm / via
EOSID on chart_______, effective date_______.

Note*: Now describe the procedure and associated holding PF reads the chart, PM checks it
on the MCDU (sec. FP).
On the hold we will perform all the procedures needed and evaluate the situation.
For the return back to ___________ we can expect vectors / published approach to
runway___.
