Major Research Project.

Instructions

Imagine you are the Operations Manager – Sales and Marketing with anyone of major business
organization in PNG. There has been a tremendous downturn in your company’s sales and marketing
projections due to the COVID 19 pandemic. It had tremendous effect on the company’s sales projections
and profit margin levels. Therefore, you feel that you have to suggest some new way forward changes to
the Senior Management Team of the company. Your main point of discussions will be around ‘scaling
down operations or downsize the operations to right size it to minimize cost to maximize profit’ for the
company. This is a major change that will take place within the next couple months. This change will be
received with mix reactions by employees as well as other stakeholders. What are some of the key
activities that you intend to undertake to put forward “change management plan” to your senior
management team;

a. List the name of the business entity/organization and

(i) List the overall background information of the organization
(ii) State the vision, mission statements, core Values if any
(iii) What are the Key Focus Areas (KFAs) or core functions of the organization
(iv) Explore the market share, annual profit turnovers and other business portfolios
(v) Give a brief background situational or justification information
(i) Use the SWOT analysis tool to get a clear eagles eye view of;
- Challenges faced as a result of COVID 19
- Strengths of the company despite the COVID 19
- Threats as a result of the pandemic
- And opportunities for the company to maximize profits
(ii) List the way forward strategies or action plans you intend to use for this exercise
(iii) List the way forward strategies or action plans you intend to use for this exercise
- Highlight your goal of the plan or new strategy
- List the objectives
- In a chronological and logical sequence identify and list the key activities you will
undertake to ensure there is no resistance, opposition, strikes and causing of major
problems by your loyal customers and prospective customers as well who will be
affected by the change. These activities are aligned to the objectives and the overall
goal
b. Use some case studies scenarios to support your arguments in your write ups
c. Five (5) students in a group
d. Use the academic writing outlines to frame your work
e. Due date is on the 30th of October, 2020
