this lesson, students will -listen to a conversation about dangerous stunts in order to get details.
be able to: -read an article about safety and risk in order to scan the text.
-use verb+ infinitive and verb +gerund to express ability.
-make use of past modals of reduction correctly.
-develop speaking skills by talking about the differences between men and women.

GRAMMAR 1-Warm up: Teacher starts his class by writing on the board a limerick. SS
VOCABULARY will practice it in class. Saturday 1
PRONUNCIATION and
LISTENING 2-Unit introduction:( speaking) SS are going to look at some pictures
SPEAKING about different professions. They will give opinions about the types of risk Saturday 2
READING COMPREHENSION they think people take .then SS will discuss and complete a questionnaire
WRITING about physical health and safety, social status and relationships.

3-Vocabulary activity : first Teacher asks SS what words do they know


about risk.SS will read a letter about risk.then they will complete sentences
with words or phrases that they underlined or are derived from the word
risk. Finally Ta nd SS will check the answers.

4-Grammar focus 1:presentation: Teacher introduces the new grammar


verb+infinitive, verb +base form and verb +infinitive through a reading . he
also provides new oral examples and provide explanation about the
different forms.practice: SS will rewrite sentences with words in
parentheses.production.Ss will make up their own sentences using the
grammar , then they will share them with the class.

5-Grammar focus 2:presentation: Teacher introduces the second


grammar, modals of deduction through a conversation , he explains the
function, he also provides new written examples using an index card.
Practice: SS will rewrite sentences using the grammar .production: Ss will
look at a picture in their books, They will use the grammar to talk what do
they think what happened just before a picture was taken.

6-Listening task:pre: SS will look at a picture in their books, they will read
a paragraph , they will express opinions if a man was in real danger .during:
they will listen to two people talking about a man ‘s stunt. They will answer
what questions. They will listen again and they will check a phrase in each
pair that they hear.
7-Reading practice:pre. Before reading an article , SS will discuss some
statements about agree or disagree.during: SS will read an article about risk,
teacher corrects pronunciation and clarifies new words . post: finally SS will
find words and phrases in bold in the article and match them with the
definitions.

8-Speaking task 1:( Debate) SS are given a copy a worksheet, SS will


express opinions about the differences between men and women. They will
agree or disagree.

9- Extra Activity: Teacher provides a copy of phrasal verbs, he provides


explanation about separable and nonseparable. He and his SS study a list .
also he provides examples using them.

10:Speaking task 2: ( Memories) SS are given a worksheet , they will work


in pairs asking and answering questions about recent and distant memories.

REINFORCEMENT / HOMEWORK
SS will work on the language wrap up page 126, they will work on their
Saturday 1 and Saturday 2. workbook material unit 10.
ASSESSMENT / EVALUATION FOR THIS UNIT
Quiz 1 SS will be assessed during class participation. Also they will take a quiz based on grammar
Test 1 and vocabulary and listening unit 9.( second Saturday)
