What is reading diagnostic tool kit?

It is an assessment tool to identify


individual learners’ reading need or level of
ability. With the help of the tool kit, readin
difficulty of every struggling reader will be
identified and be appropriately or properly
addressed.

How to use the reading diagnostic tool ki

The reader will be given set of


letters/syllables/word to decode. If 25% o
the given set cannot be decoded correctly,
the reader will be considered frustration in
that level of reading difficulty. This is whe
the reading administrator will start in
tailoring the reading gap of the reader. If
75% of the give set can be decoded, the
reader then moves to the next level. That w
be the same through the succeeding levels.

Let the reader pick a letter chip in the
envelope and identify its name. Teacher
checks the correctly identified and cross out
the incorrectly identified letter names.
Repeat the activity until all the letter chips
are taken out from the envelope.
