Aims/Benefits of the Micro-Project

This micro-project aims to explore the challenges and opportunities faced by small-scale and cottage
industries in Assam. By understanding the factors hindering their growth and proposing suitable measures,
the project intends to contribute to the economic development of the state, particularly in terms of
employment generation and income distribution.
1.0 Course Outcomes Addressed

b) Analyzing government policies and their impact on industrial development.
c) Applying research methodologies to gather primary and secondary data.
d) Evaluating the effectiveness of proposed solutions for industry-related challenges.
e) Enhancing communication and presentation skills through project report and presentation.

2.0 Proposed Methodology

The proposed methodology for this micro-project involves a multifaceted approach to gather comprehensive
data and insights into the challenges and opportunities faced by small-scale and cottage industries in Assam.
Firstly, a systematic literature review will be conducted to gather secondary data from government reports,
research studies, and academic literature related to small-scale industries in Assam. This will provide a
foundational understanding of the topic and help identify key areas for investigation.

Secondly, primary data will be collected through field surveys conducted in industrial estates, growth
centers, and district industries centers across Assam. These surveys will involve structured interviews and
questionnaires with small-scale industry owners, workers, government officials, and other stakeholders to
gather firsthand information on the current status, challenges, and prospects of these industries.

Thirdly, the collected data will be analyzed using qualitative and quantitative methods to identify common
themes, trends, and patterns. This analysis will provide insights into the specific challenges faced by small-
scale industries in Assam, such as finance, marketing, infrastructure, and government policies.

Finally, based on the findings from the literature review and field surveys, suitable measures and
recommendations will be proposed to address these challenges and promote the growth and development of
