This is a screen for reception of studies. Performs patient information input. By selecting the list tabs at the
top of the screen, various lists can be displayed.

Study Screen
This is a screen for executing a study. There are two kinds of display mode: one-image display mode and
six-image display mode.

Starting Up and Shutting Down the DR Console
Described herein are the procedures used to start up and shut down the DR Console.

Starting Up the DR Console


You turn on the main unit (PC with the DR Console installed) of the DR Console, monitor, and the X-ray
radiography device before starting the operation.

Turn on the monitor and the equipment

Turn on the power to the main unit.

The DR Console starts up and the opening
screen is displayed. At the completion of the
startup, the “Login box” appears for identifying
the DR Console user. However, the box does
not appear if the user authentication is set to
be omitted at the time of the installation. In this
case, the “Patient Information Input Screen” in
Step 5 appears instead following the opening
screen.

Input the user name and password, and then

When the “Patient Information Input Screen”


appears, you can start operation.

If you do not operate the DR Console for a certain

Shutting Down the DR Console
You shut down the DR Console and the PC. You log off the DR Console to suspend the operation without
turning off the power.

Select (1) on the “Patient Information

2 The DR Console shuts down, and the power to
the PC is automatically shut off.
It may take a few minutes until the power to the
PC is automatically shut off.

The DR Console is not designed for continuous


around-
the-clock operation. Please turn off the power of the
DR Console at least once a day by performing the
steps described on this page.

Make sure that you log off the DR Console when


suspending the operation without turning off the
power.
To log off, select [Logoff] from menu on the
“Patient Information Input Screen” in Step 1, and then

Step 1 Entering Patient Information

the patient ID, name, sex, and other information using the DR Console and then register them in a database.
You retrieve information on a patient who has radiographed in the past from the database.
For the First Study of a Patient
Operate the DR Console to register information on a new patient using the procedures below.
You use the touch panel or a combination of the keyboard and the mouse for entering the information.

Entering Patient Information

Enter the patient ID (2), and then select

Make all necessary entries as in Step 2.


3 Patient Information Input Screen is of three
pages. Use or button to switch to other
pages.

You can also move the cursor by selecting an input

You will be taken to the “Exposure Menu
Selection Screen.”
By switching to other pages with or button,
you can enter the study number, a comment on the
patient, his/her blood type, and other information.

Selecting instead of in Step 4 enables


you to get the study reserved. The reserved study
makes its way into the “Local WL list”. (Refer to page
19).

Proceed to “2 Starting the


study” (page 14). Selecting deletes all information that has been
entered.

For a Patient Radiographed in the Past
When is displayed on the “Patient Information Input Screen”, you can search and retrieve information on a patient
who was radiographed in the past from the database. You can run a search using a patient ID, name, or other search
criterion.

Enter search conditions (1) on the “Patient

In you supply no search conditions, you can view all


past information.

Step 2 Starting the Study
Under this step, you select exposure menus to start a study. You can select up to 32 exposure menus for
one study. Selected exposure menus may be changed in sequence or changed to those for other exposure
regions.

Select a display group in the Display Group list

Exposure menus registered to the display group
you selected are displayed in the “Exposure
menu list”.

Select a exposure menu (2).


2 Selected exposure menu is displayed in the
“Selected exposure menu list” on the right side
of the screen.
When you select the same exposure menu a
number of times, this particular exposure menu
will be displayed on the “Selected exposure
menu list” repeatedly by the number of times
you selected that menu.
Starting Studies

When you have selected the required exposure


3 menu(s), select (3).
You will be taken to the “Study Screen.”

You must also select an exposure menu when

additional menus if necessary on the “Exposure
Menu Selection Screen” or “Study Screen” in Step 3.

There may be multiple exposure menus for one dis-


play group They include various regions, positioning,
and exposure methods.

Selecting in Step 3 clears what you have entered


on the “Patient Information Input Screen” and the
“Exposure Menu Selection Screen” and takes you
back to the “Patient Information Input Screen”.

Selecting in Step 3 enables you to get the study

Changing Exposure Menus

Select the exposure menu you want to change

Select an exposure region and an exposure

Deleting an Exposure Menu

Step 3 Checking an Image
Under this step, you make an exposure using the Image Sensor and check the result on the “Study Screen”
of the DR Console.
Making an Exposure and Checking the Image

On the “Study Screen,” select the exposure


1 menu for the exposure to be made (1).

You must select an exposure menu when

Select additional menus if necessary.

Make sure that an appropriate menu(s) is


selected before making an exposure. If an
exposure is made with a menu, for which
exposure has been already made (the resulted
image is displayed), being selected, a system
error occurs in the DR Console.

Take a look at the Image Sensor status and


2 make certain that the green light is on (2).

Make an exposure (3) using the Image Sensor.


3 The result is displayed on the “Study Screen.”
Checking Image

Check an image on the “Study Screen”.


4 Repeat the procedure above to make exposures
and check images for each exposure menu.

To display an image of other exposure menu,


select a thumbnail image of interest on the
“Exposure menu list” on the right of the screen.

Selecting a thumnail and subsequently


displays the “Image Editing Screen”. You can
edit images using the utility functions on this
screen.
Refer to “Editing an image (page 18).

Proceed to “4 Completing
Studies” (page 17). You can switch over to a six-image display mode by
selecting on the “Study Screen”.

Step 4 Completing Studies
Under this step, you complete studies and return to the “Patient Information Input Screen”.

Completing Studies and Starting QA

After checking an image, terminate the study


1 by selecting (1).

The following conditions that have been set


using the User Utility apply when terminating
the study.

•Actions to be performed when the


current study is terminated

“Finish exposure only” :


Only exposure is terminated. The study is
stored on the “QA list.” Due to settings made
with the User Utility, no image delivery takes
place.

“Finish exposure and QA” :


Exposure and QA are terminated. The study
is saved on the “Queue list” or “Delivery list.”

that have been made with the User Utility.
If you want to end the current study under conditions
•Printing
Printing different from those set by the User Utility, select
Done manually on an exposure-by- and simply wait for some seconds for the
exposure basis or performed at the time of following menu items to appear:
completion of QA.

Editing an Image
You can magnify an image and change exposure menus and the like.
If there is no need to perform image editing, end the current study. Refer to Page 15.
Editing an Image (QA)

On the “Study Screen”, select a thumbnail


1 image of interest (1) and select (2).
The “Image Editing Screen” appears.

The buttons to the left of button are short-cut


buttons for image editing. For example, by selecting
WKHPDJQL¿HUEXWWRQ , you can switch over to the

of the current on-screen image is displayed.

You are now going to perform image editing.

Displaying and Operating Study List

There are six types of the study lists. When their tabs are selected, the studies on the list is displayed.

Tab List name Kind of information listed

Local WL list Shows reserved studies for which exposures have not been
performed yet, and studies which is being suspended (in an
on-hold state).

QA list Shows studies that have gone through exposures but not
completed QA (image editing) yet.

Queue list Shows studies that have completed exposures and QA (image
editing) but not ¿nished with outputting to ¿lm yet.

Delivered list Shows studies that have completed printing on ¿lm.

All list Shows all of studies that are stored on hard disk of the main
unit of the DR Console.

Today list Shows studies that have been performed this day.

The following icons are used for the operations of Palette1 and Palette2 tabs.
Icon Function Operation you can perform
Change exposure region Selecting an exposure region and an exposure menu and then
and exposure menu selecting [OK] allows you to change the exposure region/exposure
menu.

Change GA/GS After changing patient information, selecting [OK] reflects the
changes.

Change patient After changing patient information, selecting [OK] reflects the
information * changes.

Flip image horizontally The image is flipped horizontally.

Flip image vertically The image is flipped vertically.

Change S / L Changing the S value (center point of the image reading sensitivity)
or the L value (latitude of image reading) and then selecting [Apply]
reflects the change to the image being displayed. Selecting [OK]
makes the change be determined accordingly.

Change SS / CS Changing the SS (density shift) value and the CS (contrast shift)
value and then selecting [Apply] reflects the changes to the image
being displayed. Selecting [OK] makes the changes be determined
accordingly.

Enter annotation Entering text in the entry box and then selecting inputs the
characters text into the image being displayed as an annotation character.
Selecting [OK] makes the input be determined accordingly.

Rotate/flip image Selecting an icon from among 90-degree counterclockwise rotation,


180-degree rotation, 90-degree clockwise rotation, vertical flip, and
horizontal flip, and then selecting [OK] rotates or flips the image.

Change image Editing image information and then selecting [OK] reflects the
information changes.

Change film character Either selecting the icon indicating film or entering any text in the
strings “Character entry box”, and then selecting [OK] enables you to
change the film character string. The film character string setting will
be reflected on film.

Set image comment/study Entering an image comment or a study comment and then selecting
comment* [OK] establishes the comment.
Set delivery * The same operation as described in "Filing setting" in page 38 can
be performed.
Set printing * The same operation as described in "Print setting" in page 38 can
be performed.

Rotate 90 degrees Selecting this icon rotates the image 90 degrees clockwise.

Change trimming Changing the trimming size and position and then selecting [OK]
changes the trimming setting.

Enter marker Selecting a marker, pointing any position on the image, and then
selecting [OK] establishes the marker.

Change detailed image After changing the GP (gradation processing) parameter, the RP
processing parameters (frequency processing) parameter and so on, selecting [Apply]
reflects the changes to the image being displayed. Selecting [OK]
saves the changed data.

Change FNC parameter Setting the FNC parameter and/or turning the FNC processing
ON/OFF, and then selecting [OK] reflects the changes.

Change technologist Selecting a technologist and then selecting [OK] changes the
information technologist setting of the image being displayed.
The functions marked with an asterisk (*) are available only when the Image Editing Screen has been opened from a study list.

The following icons are used for the operations of Delivery tab.

Print setting * By performing any of the following operations and then selecting
[OK], you can change print settings.
Ὁᴾ Changing printer
Selecting displays the printer selection box, where you can
change the printer by selecting a printer and then clicking [OK].
Ὁᴾ Changing the number of prints
Selecting [-]/[+] enables you to change the number of prints.
Ὁᴾ Changing the format
Selecting images one by one in the order of frame positions, and
then selecting an icon from among one-image/tow-image/2on1/4on1
enables you to change the print format.

Filing / soft copysetting* By performing any of the following operations and then selecting
or [OK], you can change filing settings.
Ὁᴾ Changing a filing unit
Selecting displays the “Filing unit selection box”, where you
can select a device and then select [OK] to change the delivery
destination device.
Ὁᴾ Changing the filing mode
Selecting the (OFF), (ON), or (ON*) icon enables
you to change the setting to specify that the images not be filed
onto any filing device (OFF), original images be filed in a high
density (an initially set pixel density) (ON), or filed in a standard
density (a low pixel density) (ON*).
Ὁᴾ Adding/removing a soft copy device
Selecting displays the “Additional soft copy device selection
setting”. By selecting a soft copy device and then clicking [OK],
you can add a soft copy device. Selecting a delivery destination
device and then selecting removes the soft copy device.
Ὁᴾ Setting density of a soft copy image
Selecting located to the right of the soft copy device list
enables you to change the soft copy image resolution.

The functions marked with an asterisk (*) are available only when the Image Editing Screen has been opened from a study list.

The following operations can be performed on the List tab only when the Image Editing Screen has been
opened from a study list.

Function Operation you can perform
Replace exposure With an exposure menu being selected, moving it up or down allows you to change the
menus order of exposure menus.
Replace images Selecting and holding a thumbnail image and waiting for a few seconds displays a
boldframe around the thumbnail image. In this state, selecting another thumbnail you
want to replace causes the two images to changes places.
Change display images Select a thumbnail to change a display image.

The following icons are used for the utility functions.

Display the previous/next The previous/next study is displayed.

Set as an improperly The image being displayed is set as an improperly exposed image.

Magnify image Displays icons for magnification, reduction, and so on, of an image.
Selecting takes you back to the previous view.

Switch image processing Selecting an icon from among left image parameters for 2-image
type format, right image parameters for 2-image format, and parameters
for 1-image format enables you to change the image processing
type.
Selecting returns you to the previous screen.

Lock * The study currently displayed is locked to prevent inadvertent


deletion.

Output image All images of the study currently displayed are printed.

Reset changes The changes that have not been saved are reset.

Save image Selecting a compression ratio and a reduction ratio, and them
selecting [Save] saves the image. The image is saved in JPEG
format.
The functions marked with an asterisk (*) are available only when the Image Editing Screen has been opened from a study list.

Other Utility Function
