MEDIATION TASK
Organising a message

To make a message clear to the listener, it needs to be organised in a logical order.

TASK: You want to try one of the recipes with your best friend at the weekend.
Send him/her a voice message in your language to say what ingredients you need
with information from the video in the Student’s book (unit 5), page 61, exercise
9.

STEP 1 - PREPARE

1. Read the messages. Which is clearer? Why?

2. Look at message B in exercise 1 again. Number the things that the writer does in
order from 1 to 6.

STEP 2 - CREATE - Now do the Mediation task. Use the box below to write your
voice message. Organise your voice message in a logical order. Write about 80
words. Your message should be about 1 minute long.

Hello lucas I am david I would like to tell you that you have to make an Oreo
cake for the party, these are the ingredients:
18 Oreo cookies.
80 grams of
sugar.
200 grams of cream cheese
You leave the Oreo cookies in powder form. Then the sugar and the cream
cheese are beaten together. You also add 300 ml of heavy cream, then you
beat it and put a layer of Oreo, the cream and another layer of Oreo and it's
ready.

Remember that to evaluate this task, you need to send a


voice message (audio file). You can attach the audio file
to the task on Classroom.

following items in your voice message:

a friendly greeting to your friend;


information from the video in the Student’s book;
correct spelling and punctuation
organization of your message
the appropriate length of your message (1 minute)
