LESSON PLAN IN PHYSICAL EDUCATION

LESSON 1

Content Standards:
The learner demonstrates understanding of lifestyle and weight management
to promote community fitness.

Performance Standard:
At the end of the lesson, students should have to: The learner maintains an
active lifestyle to influence the physical activity participation of the community.
a. identify and discuss the nature and background of physical fitness and its
classification;
b. can calculate their own Body Max Index (BMI).
c. perform two test of skill – related fitness test.

II. Subject Matter

B. Materials: PPT, Speaker, Visual Aid, Stress Ball, Ruler and Stopwatch

2. Priming: “Video Presentation”


The teacher will play a CrossFit highlights video from “CrossFit Games
Highlights 2023” and ask the learners what they felt when they watched the video.

B. Lesson Proper

ACTIVITIES – A. “Mix and Match”


The teacher will show the different pictures of the health-related components to
the class and will identify their names and classifications. The learners will have a
representative each from their group who will flip the water bottle before giving their
answers.

C. “Picture Analysis”
The teacher will present five pictures of skill related components. The learners
will analyze the pictures and tell if it is agility, balance, coordination, power, reaction
time and speed.

1. Agility - ability to rapidly and accurately change the direction of the movement to
the entire body in space.
2. Balance - The maintenance of equilibrium while stationary or while moving.
3. Coordination - The ability to use the senses with the body parts to perform motor
tasks smoothly and accurately.
4. Power - The ability to transfer energy into force at a fast rate.
5. Reaction Time - The time elapsed between stimulation and the beginning of
reaction to that stimulation.
6. Speed - The ability to perform a movement in a short period of time.

How can we measure Skill Related Components?

4. Reaction Time Test: Stick Drop Test
5. Coordination Test: Juggling

ANALYSIS – “Skill Related Components Test ”

Each group from the class will have a cue that will be given by the teacher.
They will have to give three more types of Skill Related Component test.

Group I: Research on the internet three more types of power test


Group II: Research on the internet three more types of reaction time test
Group III: Research on the internet three more types of coordination test
Group IV: Research on the internet three more types of balance test.

ABSTRACTION – “Sing, Stop, and Answer”

The teacher will play the song “Eye of the tiger” and the students will sing
along while passing the mascara to the next person. If the music stops, the learners
who are holding the mascara will answer the questions below.

3. Doing some exercise affect the fitness level of a person?

APPLICATION – “Two Test”

The class will be divided into four groups and will two representatives. The
two representatives will do the stick drop test and ball Juggling test. The teacher will
ask the learners what they felt after doing the festival dance.

IV. Assignment: “Fitness Awareness”


On your MAPEH notebook, state the importance of Health-Related and Skill-
Related to one’s life
