WELCOME TO ADSR DRUM MACHINE
A new Drum Machine for the discerning beat maker. It combines a pro-level suite of kits and
sounds for the modern producer, together with a unique and creative way of sequencing and
refining them to your taste. With ADSR Drum Machine you can very quickly get the results you
need, safe in the knowledge that you can twist the sounds into what you can hear in your head.
Instantly find and arrange sounds with a unique sample and preset browser, and route powerful
new effects with drag-and-drop simplicity. With a straightforward - yet powerful - interface that
puts incredible sound designing possibilities at your fingertips, ADSR Drum Machine is the only
beat making tool you will need in your arsenal.
GETTING STARTED
1. Click the Main menu in the Header and open Audio and MIDI Settings... in the Edit
sub-menu.
2. Select the Audio tab and select the audio interface you want to use from the Device
drop-down menu.

2. Pad Matrix - Provides a pad arrangement of all samples in the Kit, giving access to all
sounds and making them playable. For more information, refer to Pad Matrix

a. Browser Access - quick access to the sample browser, also the random sample
selection dice. For more information refer to Browser
b. Volume/Pan/Velocity - quick access to controls for adjusting these parameters
c. Env/Split/Tune - tabs to allow editing/adjustment of these parameters. For more
information go to to Sample Shaping
d. Effects - Contains effects that can be applied to a pad’s audio output, allowing you
to further customize your sound. Refer to Effects
e. Footer - Contains sequencer start/stop buttons, bpm and volume level
information.
Sample Browser View
This is the area where you can search from your own local samples, so that you can add them to
each of the 16 pads available.
1. Location - Contains menu items to navigate kit presets, sample packs, and your local
sample collections.
2. Folder - If a sample location has a folder within, this will be selectable here
3. Sample - The samples within a location will be selected or filtered here
4. Details - This will show the current selected sample details (including the ability to adjust
Gain/Pan/Tune and Auto Load
Preset Browser View
This is the area where you can search your presets, where you can load in a kit with all the
samples already assigned to a pad.
5. Location - Contains menu items to navigate kit presets, sample packs, and your local
sample collections.
6. Folder - If a sample location has a folder within, this will be selectable here
7. Sample - The samples within a location will be selected or filtered here
8. Details - This will show the current selected sample details
Sequencer - All Pads Step Sequencer View
This is the area where you can edit sequences of your samples that have been added to all of
your pads.
1. Toggle between views - Clicking here will allow you to toggle between the All Pads and
Single Pad views
2. Top navigation - This section allows you to adjust various parameters including the steps
count, which page the sequence is on, loop and follow. For more information, refer to All
Pads View Navigation
3. Step Sequencer - Toggle notes on/off for each of the pads here, allowing you to build up
a sequence of samples which will play at the set bpm.
Shortcut modifiers :
1. Toggle between views - Clicking here will allow you to toggle between the All Pads Step
Sequencer and Single Pad Sequencer views
2. Top navigation - This section allows you to adjust various parameters including the steps
count, which page the sequence is on, loop and follow. For more information, refer to All
Pads View Navigation
3. Single Step Trigger- Toggle notes on/off for a single pad here, adjusting the velocity of
the pad, and adding rolls.
4. Bottom navigation - This section allows you to toggle between patterns of sequences
which you have created. For more information, refer to All Pads View Navigation
5. Footer controls - Play/Stop and bpm adjustments
Mixer View
This is the area where you can mix each of the pads.
1. Main channel strip - This area allows each channel to be adjusted for volume, pan, solo
and headphone modes. You can also configure routing through buses, sends, and stereo
out configurations.
2. Bus channel strip - Each main channel strip can be assigned to a Bus, of which you can
control like a normal channel strip here.
3. Send / Main volume strip - Here you can adjust the amount of influence the audio will
have when going through the effects assigned to each Send channel strip. Also you can
control the main audio out volume.
4. Effects chain for selected channel - A channel strip of effects (which can be turned off or
on, as well as rearranging the order in the chain) will be displayed in this area for the
selected channel.
SOUND & FX TOOLS
Header
Contains menu items to navigate kit presets, as well as get access to the sequencer and mixer.

Sound Shaping Section

Split Tab
The split section is a very powerful tool which will allow you to control the transient and body
sections of one sample independently by sending them through their own individual fx chains, as
well as mixing them separately.

Tune Tab
The tune section will allow you to have fine control over the sample tuning. It gives you the ability
to change the sound’s tune (in semitones), velocity and a more granular fine tune. You can see
where the tuning fits on the piano roll - and also adjust the tune here too.

Effects Section
Contains effects that can be applied to a pad’s audio output, allowing you to further customize
your sound.

BROWSER TOOLS
Sample Browser
These are sample browser tools which you can use to navigate to the samples you wish to add to
your pads. It is a powerful tool which you can use for previewing and making small adjustments to
sounds before you decide whether it fits in your kit.
1. Location - This is a menu which allows you to select where to access the samples you
would like to add to the currently selected pad. The locations include the main Samples
(from kits) and your own Computer (where you can browse to a folder on your main or
external hard drive.
2. Folder - When you select a location you will be presented with a list of folders that you
can choose from.
3. Selected Pad - This is the pad which will be assigned the sample you select from the
folder contents.
4. Sample - When you have selected a folder that contains samples, the list of available files
will be displayed here. You can click on an individual sample and it will be automatically
played and added to the pad you have selected. The dice button will select a random
sample within the folder location.
5. Details - The currently selected sample waveform will be displayed here, together with
other useful information.
6. Gain/Tune - These two knobs will allow you to make edits to the gain (volume) and Tune
of the selected sample to hear how these would affect the sound in the balance of the kit.
Preset Browser
These are sample browser tools which you can use to navigate to the samples you wish to add to
your pads. It is a powerful tool which you can use for previewing and making small adjustments to
sounds before you decide whether it fits in your kit.
1. Location - This is a menu which allows you to select where to access the Preset you
would like to load into memory.
2. Folder - When you select a location you will be presented with a list of folders that you
can choose from.
3. Preset- When you have selected a folder that contains presets, the list of available files
will be displayed here. You can click on an individual preset and it will be automatically
loaded.
4. Details - The currently selected sample waveform will be displayed here, together with
other useful information.
SEQUENCER - ALL PADS VIEW - TOOLS
Top Navigation
This is the top area that you will use to navigate the sequencer options for controlling parameters
of the current pattern.

Single Pad Sequencer View
