Contribution to national level initia-
tive of Government of Indian rural
Development

The Government of India has social welfare and social security schemes for India’s citizens
funded either by the central government, state government or concurrently. There are
several schemes introduced by the government which focus on development in various
sectors of the society. One of the schemes includes Rural Development, which is the
process of improving the quality of life and economic well-being of people living in rural
areas, often relatively isolated and less developed areas. Schools in these rural areas
mainly depend on the Government and other funds to run. School is considered a second
home to students. It is important to ensure that such a place, where students spend
most of their time, is well maintained to invoke a feeling of safety and security among
students. As a part of All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE), we decided to
visit Government Primary School,Heskuthuru,Kundapura. On school days, the corridors
get quite busy and packed with students. Due the frequent and constant use of corridors,
the paint on them tends to wear down fast and easily. The students of Information
Science Engineering contacted the faculty of the school and asked them if they would be
willing to let us paint their school corridors. They eagerly agreed. We put together a
budget and gathered all the materials required like paint, brushes, buckets etc., and set
to work. After scraping off the old paint of the corridor with sand paper, we started the
painting the walls. We picked bright yellow and maroon paint. After painting, we cleaned
the whole corridor in order to maintain the neatness and cleanliness of the school. We
also interacted with the students and the teachers and we were very happy to see that
they were satisfied with the results.

Spreading Public awareness under ru-
ral outreach programmes

The students of Information Science and Engineering interacted with the government
primary school .The objectives of AICTE student activity is to expose students to realtime
life challenges, to provide the opportunity to gather data, analyse data, propose solutions
and implement solutions. Also, it paves the way for personal development and creative
engineers who are proud volunteers with a sense of achievement and ready to take up
projects having a social impact and creating digital awareness. Besides, it helps the
students to strengthen their soft skills, leadership qualities and team spirit. Moreover,
these activities inculcate entrepreneurial mindset and societal commitment. As part of
the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) activity point programme , the
students of IV sem Information Science and engineering visited the Govt. Primary School
Heskutturu. The School is situated in the district of Udupi with about 30 to 35 students
in each of the classes. A group of 10 students visited the primary school and made
the students aware an bout the harms of the diseases that the rain can bring upon us.
They made the students aware about the various ways in which these diseases can be
avoided or the ways in which they can be treated. They encouraged the students to
keep their surroundings clean and to spread the advices they’ve learnt to others. The
students also made the children aware of the seedballs, the methos of preparation, and
also their benefits and importance. The students, with the help of the teacher and few
children of the school planted the seed balls that they had prepared prior in the school
premises .Overall we made an attempt to educate the students about the importance
of health, hygiene and importance of the environment by conducting a AICTE Activity
Programme.

Empowering Ecosystem with seed Ball
Planting

The objectives of AICTE student activity is to expose students to real-time life changes,
to provide the opportunity to gather data, analyse data, propose solutions and imple-
ment solutions. The Seed balls making activity was conducted for school students as an
initiative towards greening the environment. The aim of this activity was to make the
student community as well as public aware about the environment and its conservation,
the seed balls were distributed to all the students. All were requested to plant the seed
balls in their garden or convenient and favorable areas as a contribution towards a green
and healthy environment. The activity was successfully carried out and was appreciated
by all present. The seed ball recipe: Two parts potting soil, five parts pottery clay mix
from your local art store, one-two parts water, onetwo parts seeds of your choice, large
tub to mix ingredients, large box to dry and store seed balls. Overall we made an attempt
to educate the student about planting seed balls by conducting AICTE activity program.

Blood Donation

Participating in a blood donation camp at Sahyadri College of Engineering and Manage-

ment was a meaningful experience for me. I donated blood twice during the event. It was
not just about giving blood; it was about coming together with others to help those in
need. The camp showed me how important it is for us to support each other, regardless
of our differences. Seeing the smiles on the faces of those who received the blood made
me realize how much of a difference we can make by helping each other out.
Being part of the camp made me feel like I was part of a team, all working towards the
same goal of helping others. It was heartwarming to see everyone come together, putting
aside their differences, and helping those in need. I now understand the importance of
giving back to the community and taking care of each other’s well-being. I’m eager to
continue participating in such events because I’ve seen firsthand the positive impact they
can have on people’s lives.

a rush of adrenaline and excitement, knowing that I was about to share my passion for
drama with a captivated audience.
The process of preparing for the performances was equally rewarding, as it involved
rigorous rehearsals, brainstorming sessions, and collaborative efforts with my fellow par-
ticipants. Working together towards a common goal fostered a sense of camaraderie and
mutual support, strengthening our bonds as a team. Through countless hours of practice
and refinement, we honed our skills, polished our performances, and emerged with a sense
of pride and accomplishment that transcended the boundaries of competition.
Participating in the VTU fest not only allowed me to showcase my talents but also
provided me with invaluable lessons in collaboration, perseverance, and self-expression.
The experience not only enriched my understanding of the performing arts but also
instilled in me a deeper appreciation for the power of creativity and teamwork to inspire,
entertain, and unite people from diverse backgrounds. As I reflect on my time at the

Government School Painting Activity
by NSS

The National Service Scheme (NSS) recently led an impactful painting initiative at a
government school, marking a significant milestone in community engagement and cre-
ative expression. Conducted on 16/7/2022, this event showcased the NSS’s dedication to
holistic development and instilling civic responsibility among youth. The initiative saw
enthusiastic participation from both NSS volunteers and students, emphasizing a collec-
tive eagerness to positively contribute to the local community. Guided by committed
NSS coordinators and supportive teachers, participants embarked on an artistic journey,
utilizing paintbrushes as instruments of expression. The school atmosphere buzzed with
excitement as students brainstormed ideas, sketching outlines on the walls with themes
ranging from educational motifs to environmental conservation, reflecting the school’s
ethos and inspiring the student body. Throughout the day, participants worked tire-
lessly, infusing creativity into the school walls, symbolizing not only artistic expression
but also a commitment to beautifying and enhancing the school environment. The paint-
ings, now proudly displayed across the school premises, stand as vibrant reminders of the
collective effort and creativity invested in their creation. Educational murals depicting
mathematical concepts, scientific discoveries, and literary heroes adorn classroom walls,
providing visual stimuli and inspiration. Motivational messages strategically placed in
hallways and corridors serve as daily affirmations for students, encouraging them to strive
for excellence. Environmental themes, depicting lush landscapes and endangered species,
remind students of their role as stewards of the planet. Beyond the aesthetic transfor-
mation, the painting activity fostered a sense of pride and ownership among students,
allowing them to leave a lasting legacy on their school. The event facilitated meaning-
ful interactions and collaboration, breaking down barriers and forging friendships across
