Chapter III
PRESENTATION, ANALYSIS AND INTERPRETATION OF DATA
In this chapter, the presentation, analysis, and interpretation of
data gathered in this study were systematically presented. The
succeeding tables show the various data with regards to the 196
respondents focusing on the association of study habits and academic
performance of senior high school students at Saravia National High
School.

Statistical Treatment
The statistical treatments used by the researchers in this study
were frequency, percentage, mean, and Pearson R Correlation. All
statistical tests were set at the .05 level of significance. The margin of
error was about only 5%.

Scoring and Data Quantification

To describe the relationship of Study Habits and Academic
Performance of Senior High School Students at Saravia National High
School. The following numerical range and interpretation will be used.

Demographic Profile of Senior High School Students

This study determined the extent of internet accessibility and its impact
on the academic performance of senior high school students based on
their demographic profile in terms of gender and track and strand.

Table 3 shows the demographic data of the senior high school students
in terms of gender. There were 100 females (51.02%) out of 196 respondents,
while there were only 96 males (48.98%) respondents during the conduct of the
survey. This means that the majority of the respondents were female.

Table 4 shows the demographic data of the senior high school students
in terms of track and strand. The HUMSS students obtained a frequency of 85
(43.37%), STEM students got a frequency of 21 (10.71%), ABM students
exhibited a frequency of 28 (14.28%), TVL-AFA students gave a frequency of 19
(6.69%), while, TVL-ICT students obtained a frequency of 23 (11.73%), and
lastly TVL-HE students got a frequency of 10 (10.20%). The majority of the
respondents were HUMSS students.

Table 5 below, shows that those indicators for item 1, 2, 5, 7, 9, 11, 12,
13,14, 18, 19, 20 and 29 the respondents agreed that the indcator have
moderately good study habits. However, those statement for item 3, 4, 6, 8, 10,
15, 16, 17, 21, 22, 23, 24, 25, 26, 27, 28 and 30 the respondents agreed that
the indicator have a very good study habits. Thus, among all the indicators,
statement 10 has the highest mean which is (Mean=4.16) which means that the
student-respondents like to study in a quiet place. However, the lowest mean is
the statement 12 with the value of (Mean=2.71) which means that the students-
respondents can study while watching TV or using a cellphone. Hence, it reveals
that the overall mean for the association of study habits and academic
performance is 3.45 described as OFTEN. It signifies that the indicators have
a good study habits.

Academic Performance of the Senior High Students

In order to determine the relationship between the extent of study
habits and the academic performance of senior high school students
based on their general weighted average result, the grades of the student-
respondents were systematically presented in the table below.

Table 6 reveals the academic performance of the senior high school

students based on their general weighted average grade for the first
semester of the school year 2023-2024 which shows that the grade 11
and grade 12 students with the total population of 196 got a mean value
of 3.53 and described to be COMPLETELY SATISFACTORY and with an
interpretation that the general weighted average is totally
satisfactory.
