Descriptive Data Analysis

This part answers the question about the scores of senior high school learners in

the distance modular learning modality as a group and when classified according to sex, tracks,

and strands. The researchers used the mean, standard deviation, and one-way ANOVA.

Distance Modular Learning Modality. Table 1 shows the level of perception of

senior high school learners in the distance modular learning modality taken as a whole and

when classified according to sex, tracks, and strand. The level of the scales was found through

the given guide result of the researchers’ made questionnaire with the help of an online Google

form.

Table 1. One-Way ANOVA, Mean, and Standard Deviation result in the level of grade 11 senior high

school learners’ perception of distance modular learning modality when classified according to sex,

tracks, and strand.

Note: Interpretation is based on the following scale: SHS Learners’ Perceptions in Distance
Modular Learning Modality: Highly Perceived = 4.50-5.00; Fairly Perceived= 3.50-4.49;
Perceived= 2.60-3.49; Slightly Perceived = 1.80-2.59; Not Perceived = 1.00-1.79

Table 1 reflects a moderate level of senior high school learners’ perception of

distance modular learning modality as an entire group (M=3.75, SD=.58). These results show
that most of the grade 11 Academic and Technical-Vocational-Livelihood (TVL) Track learners of
Lambunao National High School had a perceived (in between Highly Perceived and Slightly
Perceived) level of perception in distance modular learning when such delivery modality began
to implement as well as in their daily learning activities at home amidst the pandemic.

In addition, it is also revealed in Table 1 that when respondents were classified as

female (M=3.12, SD=.23) or male (2.27, SD=.18), the results show that female had a fairly
perceived level of perception in distance modular learning modality than the male that only had
a moderately perceived level of perception in distance modular learning modality. This simply
shows that in terms of sex, female respondents (grade 11 senior high school learners) have a
way fairly aptitude for perceiving changes and impacts in their learning, such as their
perceptions of distance modular learning modality despite their geographically remote distance
from their teachers and classmates amidst the pandemic.

The data in Table 1 also reflect the level of senior high school learners (as
respondents) in distance modular learning modality that was classified into six strands, namely
the following:

 Accountancy, Business and Management strand (ABM 11 - A) under Academic

Track

 Humanities and Social Sciences strand (HUMSS 11 - A) under Academic Track

 Humanities and Social Sciences strand (HUMSS 11 - D) under Academic Track

 Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics strand (STEM 11 - B) under

Academic Track

 Bread & Pastry Production strand (BPP 11 - A) under Technical-Vocational-

Livelihood (TVL) Track

 Computer Servicing System strand (CSS 11) under Technical-Vocational-

Livelihood (TVL) Track

It is revealed that the five respondents from Accountancy, Business and

Management strand (ABM 11 - A) under Academic Track (M=3.60, SD=.41) had
a fairly perceived level of perception, the five respondents from Humanities and
Social Sciences strand (HUMSS 11 - A) under Academic Track (M=3.67,
SD=1.14) had a fairly perceived level of perception, the five respondents from
Humanities and Social Sciences strand (HUMSS 11 - D) under Academic Track

(M=3.88, SD=.45) had a fairly perceived level of perception, the five

respondents from Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics strand
(STEM 11 - B) under Academic Track (M=3.64, SD=.23) had a fairly perceived
level of perception, the five respondents from Bread & Pastry Production strand
(BPP 11 - A) under Technical-Vocational-Livelihood (TVL) Track (M=4.28,
SD=.52) had a high perceived level of perception, which is also the same to
Computer Servicing System strand (CSS 11) under Technical-Vocational-
Livelihood (TVL) Track (M=3.41, SD=.74).

It also reveals that respondents have the same level of perceptions on

the impacts of distance modular learning modality on their learning, but some of
them found difficulties in knowing the status of their grades and when they do
not accomplish answering their modules on time in their homes when they were
classified according to their chosen senior high school strand and track.
