GUIDELINES ON THE CONDUCT OF DISTRICT MID – YEAR READING ASSESSMENT

A. Role and Functions of the Teachers


1. Submit list of pupils who got below 14 and who have undergone the Phil – IRI Pre – Test
indicating their Reading Level to the School English Leader.
2. Download and reproduce District Mid – Year Assessment Tool (Reading Forms and Reading
Passages)
3. Compute the reading level of pupils following the formula provided
4. Submit the accomplished form to the School English Leader

B. Role and Functions of the School English Leaders


1. Consolidate and submit the consolidated list of pupils who got below 14 and who have
undergone the Phil – IRI Pre – Test indicating their Reading Level to the District English
Specialist.
2. Consolidate the reading assessment result and submit to the district specialist not later than
MARCH 30, 2023.

C. Role and Functions of the District English Specialist


1. Consolidate the list of pupils submitted by the School English Leader
2. Prepare the District Mid – Year Reading Assessment Tool and Reading Passages
3. Consolidate the Mid – Year Reading Assessment result submitted by the School English Leader
to be submitted to the District Supervisor.

D. Role and Functions of the School Heads


1. Administer the District Mid – Year Reading Assessment on the assigned Grade level using the
Reading Passage
2. Accomplish A, C and D on the District Mid – Year Reading Assessment Tool
3. Submit the assessed reading passage to the teacher for the computation of the reading level of
the assessed pupils.
4. Carefully analyze the result of the Mid – Year Reading Assessment of their own school and
prepare/develop a reading intervention/remediation plan for the identified reading behavior
and miscues with the support of the teachers to be submitted to the District Supervisor

E. Role and Functions of the District Supervisor


1. Monitor the administration of the District Mid – Year Reading Assessment
2. Check and approve the intervention/remediation plan submitted by the school head
3. Prepare technical assistance (TA) plan based on the issues, concerns and suggestions in the
implementation of the reading intervention/remediation plan.
