 RQ1: What are the lived experiences of the instructors using technology-mediated
instruction in the new normal ?

related to technology accessibility,

IDI1-1A: There are lots of
adjustments because not all
students have technology and the
online platforms its new to us and
especially not all place here has
signal. So, there are big adjustments
that needs to be done.
FGD2-1A: I was experiencing
culture shock with the technology
and other platforms that we need to
use since it was new to me, and I
needed to adjust.
FGD5-1A: It is difficult for me since I
was a newly hired faculty member at
the time and was not exposed to
technology and other online
platforms like Zoom and Google
Meet.
FGD4-1A: It’s hard for me since I
was shocked by the sudden
changes and since we can't easily
go to school to conduct face-to-face
classes.

got shocked and mostly the
teachers, we do not have personal
computer or laptop, and it is one of
the reasons why your teaching
process will fail.

 shock experienced by a seasoned
teacher due to the pandemic-induced
transition to remote learning, as well as
the additional challenges faced by
students who were accustomed to face-
to-face instruction
POOR INTERNET - The participant addresses the negative

connectivity. Inadequate signal strength
or slow internet speeds can disrupt
online classes, lead to frequent
disconnections, and hinder students'
ability to participate fully in virtual
learning activities.

students are unable to attend online
classes due to their heavy reliance on

TECHNOLOGY - The participant emphasized that the
ADJUSTMENT unfamiliarity with the new technologies
has posed considerable obstacles,
requiring teachers to undergo a process
of adjustment and upskilling.
- The participant emphasizes that the
process of teaching using different
shocked knowing that I have been a
teacher for 11 years, I was used to it
we are used to traditional ways of
teaching and then suddenly
pandemic happened. We the
teachers were culture shocked and
most especially the students like you
who are used to the face to face.
IDI3-1A: The negative experience is
that it is quite costly for the students
at the same time for me especially if
there is no signal, the internet
connection is poor.
IDI5-1A: Not all the students had
signals in their location in their areas
which hindered them to accomplish
their asked or their assignments.
FGD3-1A: During online classes,
when the internet connections
become weak or poor, some of my
students can’t attend the class since
they are relying on the signal from
their locations. During face-to-face
classes, we the teacher, have also
encountered difficulties since we
used the internet to make some
reports or fill out things that we
needed to do as a teacher. Our
school's Wi-Fi is not enough since
the connection is poor.
IDI3-1B: The challenges I face while
teaching using technology is
because I was not used to the
changes that happened in the
educational system, especially the
new technology that we need to use
in teaching it is new to us, so we
need to adjust.
FGD4-1B: Teaching using different
platforms is the challenge that I
 platforms presents significant
challenges as an educator due to lack
of familiarity with these new tools and
methods.

so as a teacher I am also adjusting.

leading to a disconnection and loss of
internet connectivity.

RQ2: How did the participants cope from the challenges they experienced while teaching
using technology-mediated instruction in the new normal?

without the ability to adapt, it
would be difficult to manage and

activities and submit. What I
did personally is, I provided
the activity ahead of time and
the learning materials two
weeks before the deadline.
FGD3-2A: What I did is, I
gave them their activities
ahead of time so that they can
prepare, and they will still
have lot of time to upload the
activities before deadline.
FGD4-2A: So, what I did to
overcome the challenges, I
give enough time for my
students and the activities that
I asked them to do is
uploaded through google
classroom ahead of time. So
that they will not compromise
the other lessons and
activities for the next meeting.
IDI6-2A: So, what I did is I
adapt to the changes that
happened because if you will
not adapt it will be hard for
you to cope up.
IDI-2A: So, my coping
mechanism that I do is I look
for solution to the problem,
you must know how to adapt
because you are a teacher. If
there are problem just like the
pandemic even if it is hard to
adapt but still you need to do
it.

towards students' unique
challenges and circumstances. It
emphasizes the importance of not
imposing one's own desires or
expectations but instead learning to
consider the varying problems and
situations faced by students.

responsibilities of a teacher: being
considerate towards their students

FGD2-2C: I believe that the
steps that I did was very
helpful to me as a teacher and
to the students because they
will still have time to cope up
with the subject and the
activities that they are not able
to answer or join last time, so I
believe that it is a good thing
that they will not be behind to
the activities that I give to
them.

deliver the instruction even if it
is online class.
