As their teacher, I continuously follow up their


development as they religiously continued their learnings
through answering their modules in their home. With the
modality that we had, it was challenging because there was no
face-to-face interaction and some of the MELCS (Most
Essential Learning Competencies) were not being attained
100%.

ANNOTATION
Since the learning modality of our learners this school year
was not easy because of the effect of the COVID-19 Pandemic.
Teachers nowadays, like me needed to continue the flow of
learning through modular distance learning. We, teachers printed
modules that were made by the regional office and some came
from the division office which were being printed by us for
distribution to learners as they also continue their learning in
their respective homes. This year was not easy because we must

Weekly plan and schedule serve as blueprints to guide the

ANNOTATION
Contextualization of summative assessments were one
of our tasks as an assessment to what they have learned from
their modules that was jived with the MELCS (Most Essential
Learning Competencies). It was where teachers get feedback
on the learners achievement. After conducting this assessment
the teacher shared what was the result of this to their parents
through online platform like messenger or text messaging.

Teachers were tasked to make modules,


scripts and even ICT-based instruction. Although

ANNOTATION was one of the tasks which we, teachers of the
New Normal must do/fulfil. These webinars are
great help to upgrade, update and hone our skills
in the new trend of teaching and learning. It
helped me a lot in facing day to day challenges in
teaching the learners.

COVID – 19 has brought us not only a widespread of virus but also an enormous
change in our everyday lives. And that includes our educational system. Great numbers of
learners were affected and frustrated because of this unexpected, dangerous illness that hits
towards the municipality, the country and even the whole world. The effect of this
pandemic had become severe, from having high number of infected person to a death of a
love one. Also, jobs and businesses had halted and for some people, they lost it. The
universe seemed to stopped and so do we.
But then again, we teachers, was challenged to continue doing our work as doctors,
nurses and other frontliners do. We are pushed towards changes and forced to do more than
what we usually do, but yet, armed with so much learnings from basics to the most
complex skills of using ICTs, developing and producing modules, writing scripts and other
learning resources at the very least of time, we managed to cope up and strived for the
welfare of our learners. It seemed to be impossible yet, we all done it smoothly and
successfully.
LDM Course helps to evaluate our strengths and weaknesses. This helps us
improve our knowledge, skills and mindset that are necessary in this new normal set-up. It
helps us to ensure the quality of learning that we will provide to our learners despite this
pandemic. At the start it is difficult, but we need to manage with the changes we have in
order to survive. Our compassion and dedication as teachers is evident no matter what
situation we are in. We are like a candle, who is willing to consume itself just for the
goodness of our students. This new normal set-up is also an opportunity for us learn and
grow more in implementing the different types of teaching modalities.
No matter what happens, the Department of Education will stand still and find ways
to give its best for the welfare of the learners. Mabuhay, Department of Education.

This LDM Course helps me a lot to survive


this school year. I was given this opportunity to
experience a great journey wherein, I managed to

I constantly communicate to my learners through


calls and chats. I also meet them via Home Visitation on
them from time to time is a great help to learners and
parents especially guiding them in module activities.
Feedback is reiterated when at times of confusion in

The grading sheet is the most effective tool in
evaluating the progress and achievement of the learner. It
is where we record their written work and performance
output. We can easily see their improvements.

ANNOTATION
Parents involvement was very important in their children’s
development. With this teachers needed so much parents in
answering and guiding our learners to learn from their modules. It
was successfully done because of the unending support of our
dear parents to continue their children’s journey to achieve
success.
