The said students did not return and submit the modules for almost two weeks. I
reached out by conducting home visitation. I determined the learner’s needs and
reasons then provide intervention by extending the amount of time for the
students to complete and submit the tasks/assessment on the modules.

The Individual Learning Monitoring Plans serve as the documents that will help
teachers to determine the learner’s progress when it comes to learning
competencies. ILMPs also used determining the learner’s needs, strength and
interest in order to provide intervention strategies for certain period to those
learner’s with low performance and experiencing learning difficulties.

Preparing lesson plans and Weekly home learning plan is necessary in


modular distance learning. These artifacts are very helpful to the teacher
and students. These will serve as a guide to them to continue the
teaching and learning process and to deliver the instruction properly
despite of not being in a regular classroom setting.

Before providing summative test to the students, I gave them time to review all the
lessons that are included on the released modules. I also gave clear instruction to
them before answering the summative test for them to have an excellent scores on
the test.

Performance task has a higher percentage than the written task in the subject I
handled. In order to conduct performance task in this time of pandemic, I choose
some appropriate individual activities for the learners to avoid physical
contact/interaction with other learners and can be done safely at inside their home. I
also distributed rubrics as their guide in performing the said activity.

Using ICT and other available learning resources helps to improve the
teaching and learning process. In this time of pandemic, ICT plays an
important role not just by sharing information regarding the lessons but also
by communicating with the students or parents in safer way. And to those
with unavailable ICT tools for learning, the self learning modules are
available.

7.4 - Professional reflection and learning to improve practice

Through this course, I was able to adjust to the new normal system
of education. This helped me hone my abilities and skills as a
teacher/educator to give quality instructions despite of the pandemic that
we are facing today. We cannot avoid those problems and circumstances to
students and parents and other stakeholders because we are all in this
adjustment process. By taking this course, it is of big help of Deped
towards us teachers as it gives us knowledge on how we can surpass this
new normal system of education.
By collecting the artifacts, I realized that I’ve done my own ways
on how I can reach my students especially those who are not doing their
outputs. I was able to discover that there are still a lot of our learners find
this new system of education hard, first because of no available internet
connection. When I do a home visitation, I always encounter students who
are not submitting outputs because they don’t have internet connection,
and a poor signal in their area. I reported this problem to their respective
adviser and decided to switch them from digital learning to
modular(printed). I was so happy because they were able to submit their
outputs on time from the start that they were switch their mode of
learning. Also included in the artifacts was the seminar/webinar that I
attended. During this new normal system, I was able to attend seminars
which gives me a lot of idea on how can I solved problems during the
modular learning. It also gives me an opportunity to learn more about
using the ICT as a main tool of our system in education today.
I realized that at the end of the course, the DepEd is flexible in
terms of giving task to teachers and they make sure that it is for own good
of every stakeholders of the school. The opportunities and the shared
knowledge towards the course become the powerful tools of every Filipino
teacher and help them make the learnings possible amidst pandemic.

5.3 - Feedback to improve learning

I checked thoroughly the returned modules and answer sheets and


some common concerns that I find out in some students is that having
unfinished or incomplete answers and returning the answer sheets
without their name on it. So I reached out to them through messenger
to deliver my concerns for them to be guided next time.

SUMMARY

Through this course, I was able to adjust to the new normal system
