Area of unshaded triangle in small square = ½ x 4 x 4 = 8 cm2
Area of unshded triangle in large square = ½ x 7 x 3 = 10.5 cm2
Area of unshaded triangle across 2 squares = ½ x 11 x 7 = 38.5 cm2
Shaded area = 65 – 8 – 10.5 – 38.5 = 8 cm2

Ans: 8 cm2

∠CFG + ∠CFG + 40 = 180°
∠CFG = (180 – 40) ÷ 2 = 70°
∠CGF = 90 – 70 = 20°

Difference in number of stickers per friend = 9 – 4 = 5
Number of friends = 115 ÷ 5 = 23
Total number of stickers = 4 x 23 + 46 = 138
Number of stickers per friend without remainder = 138 ÷ 23 = 6

∠DEC = 180 – 74 – 74 = 32° (isosceles triangle)
∠ADE = ∠EAD = 32° (alternate angles)
∠BAD = 74° (parallelogram)
∠BAE = 74 – 32 = 42°

∠AED = 180 – 32 – 32 = 116° (isosceles triangle)
∠DEF = ∠DEC ÷ 2 = 32 ÷ 2 = 16°

16. Area of 4 rectangles = 3 x area of small square ABCD

Area of ABCD = Area of 4 rectangle ÷ 3 = 12 x 4 ÷ 3 = 16 cm2 = 4 x 4
Length of ABCD = 4 cm
Area of EFGH = 4 x 16 = 64 cm2 = 8 x 8
Length of EFGH = 8 cm
Breadth of rectangle = (8 – 4) ÷ 2 = 2 cm
Length of rectangle = 12 ÷ 2 = 6 cm

Ans: 6 cm

17. Cost of 1 set of 7 hotdogs and 9 burgers = 5.90 x 7 + 11.90 x 9 = $148.40

Number of meals in such set = 0.75 x (7 + 9) = 12
Additional cost of 12 meals = 12 x 3 = $36
Cost of 1 such set plus meals surcharge = 148.40 + 36 = $184.40
Number of such sets = 4610 ÷ 184.40 = 25

Total number of orders = 25 x (7 + 9) = 400
