VI: RATIONALE

The 18 day campaign to end violence against women (VAW) is observed

annually from November 25 to December 12. The objective of this annual event is to raise

awareness among all stakeholders that VAW is a public issue of national concern. It supports

the phillipine Governments goal to protect the human rights of all women and its

commitment to address all forms of gender-based violence. The following issuances provide

the National Legal Mandates for the annual campaign proclamation 1172 s. 2006- declaring

November 25 to December 12 as the 18-day campaign to end Violence Against Women

(VAW).

In line with, Kalingayan Elementary School will comply to conduct the annual

activities to help end gender based violence through 2 days (day 1 stakeholders, day2 all

learners from k-6) campaign to eliminate violence against women and children with the

theme” VAW FREE COMMUNITY STARTS WITH ME” . Its shifts the campaign to positive
advocacy messaging by giving emphasis on every’ ones commitment and contributions in

ending VAW.

VII: OBJECTIVES

At the end of this activity, the participants will be able to:

 Uplift the knowledge on gender based violence among peer through orientation and

conduct contest.

 Empower all participants to be assertive of their rights

 Instill positive influence in building a community that is respectful or every ones

right to be free from abuse and violence.
