VI: RATIONALE

Pursuant to Republic Act no.9710, section 36 chapter 6, provides all departments

including different Agencies, Offices and other Instrumentalities shall adopt gender

mainstreaming as a strategy to promote Women’s rights and eliminate gender discrimination in

the system policies thrust and programs.

In line with the mandates, the general appropriation Act of 2013, Republic Act No.

10352 requires all agencies including the DepEd to formulate a gender and development (GAD)

Plan and Budget designed to address gender issues and implement applicable provisions under

Republic Act No. 9710 that GAD PLAN AND BUDGET shall be integrated in the regular activities

utilizing the 5% budget of the Agency. Through these guidelines on the utilizations of GAD

Budget and other requirements would serve as a reference to all GAD program implementers of

DepEd.
 In line with, Kalingayan Elementary School will comply to conduct the annual

activities of Gender and Development (GAD) programs in DepEd.

VII: OBJECTIVES

At the end of this meeting, the participants will be able to:

 Inspire and empower women and girls to be agents of change to contribute in

promoting gender equality and the empowerment of all women.

 Provide information on laws protecting women and children.

 Develop wellness among participants by having healthy lifestyle to be physically fit.
