MODULE, ELECTRONIC CONTROL - REMOVAL/INSTALLATION

TASK 32−51−31−000−801
1. Removal of the Electronic Control Module (ECM)

NOTE: Before you remove the ECM, refer to the advisory wire (AW600−32−2390).

B. Tools and Equipment

REFERENCE DESIGNATION

GSE 24−00−24 Circuit Breaker Tag − Red

NOTE: Refer to the Illustrated Tool and Equipment Manual to make sure that you use
the correct equipment configuration.

C. Job Set−Up

(1) Obey all the electrical/electronic safety precautions (TASK 24−00−00−910−801).

(2) Remove the external ac power (TASK 12−00−07−861−802).

(3) Open and tag the circuit breakers that follow:

CBP−2 F6 NOSE STEER 222

(4) Remove the flight compartment floor−panel (221CLF) (TASK 53−01−01−000−801).

D. Procedure

Refer to Figure 401.

(1) Remove the cable connector plugs (3) and (4) from the Electronic Control Module
(ECM) (1) or (6).

(2) Install the protective covers on the connector plugs (3) and (4).

(3) Remove the screws (2) and the washers (5) that attach the ECM (1) or (6) to the
bulkhead.

WARNING: HOLD THE ECM WHEN IT IS REMOVED OR INSTALLED. THE ECM


CAN FALL AND CAUSE INJURIES TO PERSONS AND DAMAGE TO
THE EQUIPMENT.

(4) Remove the ECM (1) or (6) from the avionics compartment.

2. Installation of the Electronic Control Module (ECM)

A. Reference Information

C. Job Set−Up

(1) Make sure the aircraft is in the same configuration as in the removal task.

D. Procedure

Refer to Figure 401.

(1) Install the Electronic Control Module ECM (1) or (6) on the bulkhead with the
screws (2) and the washers (5).

(2) Remove the plastic covers and attach the cable connector plugs (3) and (4) to the
ECM (1) or (6).

(3) Remove the tags and close the circuit breakers that follow:

(4) On aircraft with ECM model number 7040−13/15, do an operational test of the nose
wheel steering electronic control module (ECM) (TASK 32−51−31−710−801).

(5) Do an operational test of the nose wheel steering system


(TASK 32−51−00−710−801).

E. Close Out

(1) Remove all tools, equipment, and unwanted materials from the work area.

(2) Install the flight compartment floor−panel (221CLF) (TASK 53−01−01−400−801).
