C. Cách sử dụng me/her/them … với một giới từ
We use me/her/them etc (object) after a preposition (for/to/with etc.):
(Chúng ta sử dụng me/her/them etc. (tân ngữ) sau 1 giới từ (for/to/with …):)

This letter isn’t for me. It’s for you.

(Lá thư này không phải cho tôi. Nó gửi cho bạn.)

Who is that woman? Why are you looking at her?

We’re going to the cinema. Do you want to come with us?

 UNIT2: ĐỘNG TỪ TO BE AM/IS/ARE
Vị trí trong câu
1. Đứng trước danh từ/tính từ
Cấu trúc chung: S + To Be + N/Adj
Chức năng: Động từ to be đứng trước danh từ hoặc tính từ dùng để mô tả chủ ngữ của câu
Ví dụ: His sister is a tailor (Chị gái của anh ấy là một thợ may)
She is kind to everyone (Cô ấy tốt bụng với tất cả mọi người)
2. Đứng trước giới từ: Động từ to be đứng trước giới từ dùng để mô tả về thời gian hoặc địa điểm.
Cấu trúc chung: S + To Be + Preposition
Ví dụ: I am at home. (Tôi ở nhà)
3. Đứng trước động từ: Động từ To Be đứng trước động từ đóng vai trò là trợ động từ giúp tạo
nên cấu trúc hoàn chỉnh của một thì động từ hoặc 1 cấu trúc ngữ pháp, điển hình như:
Thì hiện tại tiếp diễn: S + To Be + V-ing
Ví dụ: Henry is doing his homework. (Henry đang làm bài tập về nhà của anh ấy)
4. Cách sử dụng động từ To Be trong câu khẳng định, phủ định, nghi vấn.
Trong câu khẳng định: Động từ To Be là một loại động từ miêu tả (linking verb), theo đó linking
verb được dùng để miêu tả về tính chất, trạng thái hoặc tên gọi của 1 sự vật, sự việc, con người.
Ví dụ:
 Miêu tả tính chất: He is handsome. (Anh ấy thì đẹp trai)
 Miêu tả trạng thái: An apple is on the table. (Một quả táo đang ở trên bàn)
 Miêu tả tên gọi: He is my brother. (Anh ấy là anh trai của tôi)
Cấu trúc chung: S + To Be + adj/N
Trong câu phủ định: Động từ To Be trong câu phủ định nhằm để “phủ định” tính chất, trạng thái,
hoặc tên gọi của 1 sự vật, sự việc, con người nào đó.
Ví dụ:
 The table is not heavy ( Cái bàn thì không nặng)
 She is not shy (Cô ấy không xấu hổ)
Cấu trúc chung: S + To Be + Not + O
Trong câu hỏi: Động từ To Be trong câu hỏi đóng vai trò là một từ để hỏi, nhằm đặt ra nghi vấn về
một sự việc, vấn đề của sự vật, sự việc hoặc con người nào đó
Ví dụ:
 Are you in the class now? (Bạn có ở trong lớp bây giờ không?)
 Is she a nurse? (Cô ấy có phải một y tá không?)
 Cấu Trúc chung: To Be + S + O?
Trong câu trả lời ngắn (short answers): Trong câu trả lời ngắn, To be sẽ đứng ngay sau chủ ngữ và
sẽ là 1 trong 2 thành phần duy nhất trong câu, Ví dụ điển hình là câu trả lời Yes/No.
Ví dụ:
 Is she a student? (Cô ấy có phải học sinh không?). Yes, she is (Phải, cô ấy là học sinh)
