Form – dạng thức

a. Affirmative form: dạng khẳng định
I/ you/ we/ they + Vbare
He/ she/ it + V(s/es)

Eg1: They speak English well.

Eg2: She washes dishes.

b. Negative form: dạng phủ định
►Tobe verb
I + am not
You/ we/ they + are not
He/ she/ it + is not

Eg1: I’m not in there now.

Eg2: She isn’t a nurse.

►Regular verb
- Use the auxiliary verb don’t/ doesn’t
I/ you/ we/ they + don’t + V bare
He/ she/ it + doesn’t + V bare

Eg1: They don’t live far away.

Eg2: He doesn’t like baseball.

c. Interrogative form: dạng nghi vấn

►Tobe
- Put is/ are at the beginning of the sentence.

Are + You/ we/ they. . .?

Is + He/ she/ it. . .?

Eg1: Are you a new student?

Eg2: Is he a doctor?

- Put do /does at the beginning of the sentence.
Do + You/ we/ they + V bare?
Does + He/ she/ it + Vbare?

Eg1: Do they study English well?

II. Uses - Cách dùng :Chúng ta dùng thì hiện tại đơn để diễn
tả :
1. Một hành động được lặp đi lặp lại hoặc thường xuyên xảy
ra. (thể là một thói quen, một sở thích, một sự kiện hằng
ngày)
Eg:
- I go to school everyday.
-They often go to the church on Sunday.
-She gets up at 6o’clock every morning.
2. Chân lí hoặc sự thật đúng một cách hiển nhiên
Eg: 1. The sun rises in the East.

2. Water boils(boil) at 100 degrees centigrade.

3. Hành động trong thời khóa biểu/ lịch trình tàu
xe.
Eg: 1. The train leaves tonight at 6 p.m.

2. The party starts at 8 o'clock.

III. Cách thêm s, es vào sau động từ vào ngôi thứ 3 số ít

- Thông thường ta thêm s vào sau động từ:

Eg: walk => walks
work => works
- Nếu động từ tận cùng là “O, S, X, Sh, Ch, Z” thì ta thêm es vào sau
động từ:
Eg: go => goes pass => passes
wash => washes catch => catches
mix => mixes buzz => buzzes
- Khi một động từ tận cùng bằng “1 phụ âm + y”, ta
biến y thành ies.
Eg: hurry => hurries copy => copies

Note: stay => stays enjoy => enjoys
