Ghi chú:
 V Nguyên mẫu là Động từ nguyên thể tức là động từ không bị chia

 Ta thêm "es" sau các động từ tận cùng là : O, S, X, CH, SH.

 Watch => watches, go => goes

 Với động từ kết thúc bằng chữ Y, trước Y dài là một phụ âm thì khi chia động từ ta chuyển Y
thành I và thêm es. Ví dụ: study => studies
 Với động từ kết thúc bằng chữ Y, trước Y dài là một nguyên âm (a, e, i, o, u) thì khi chia động
từ ta chỉ cần thêm s. Ví dụ: play =>plays
 Với động từ kết thúc bằng chữ e, khi chia động từ ta chỉ cần thêm s. Ví dụ: live => lives

CÁCH SỬ DỤNG THÌ HIỆN TẠI ĐƠN

Thì hiện tại đơn được sử dụng để:
 Nói về một thói quen lặp đi lặp lại hàng ngày: 

Eg: I always get up at 6.am 

 Nói về sự thật, chân lý hiển nhiên: 

Eg: A day has 24 hours.

 Thời gian biểu, lịch trình, chương trình:
Eg: The film starts 8.00 pm on VTV3.
 Nói về khả năng của ai đó:
Eg: She plays basketball very well.
III. Dấu hiệu nhận biết
Trong cách sử dụng thì hiện tại đơn thường xuất hiện các trạng từ chỉ tần suất cơ bản như: always,
usually, often, sometimes, rarely, every day, once a month, in the morning, once in a blue moon…,
once times, twice, ….
Chú ý: từ “ba lần” trở lên ta sử dụng: số đếm + times
Ví dụ: She goes to the cinema four times a month. (Cô ấy đi xem phim 4 lần 1 tháng)
* Vị trí của trạng từ chỉ tuần suất trong câu:
- Các trạng từ: always, usually, often, sometimes, rarely, seldom - đứng trước động từ thường, đứng
sau động từ “to be” và trợ động từ .
Ví dụ:
- He rarely goes to school by bus. (Anh ta hiếm khi đi học bằng xe bus)
- She is usually at home in the evening. (Cô ấy thường ở nhà vào buổi tối.)
