Profiles™ Report
#1: Energiser
#2: Innovator
The myDESIGN Strengths Profiles™ are SIX profiles that have been created using a
variety of different superpowers. They are an archetype-based-tool, which have been
designed to support people with unlocking and activating their strengths.
As such, archetypes can be a great tool for helping people become more aware of
their hidden characteristics (like their strengths), as well as shed a light on how to
use those characteristics more intentionally.
1. Take the myDESIGN Strengths Profiles™ quiz to unlock your Top 2 profiles.
2. Explore the ‘superpowers’ that underpin each of these Top 2 profiles (consider
these your customised ‘superpowers’ bank).
3. Gather insight from a range of people that know you well about your Top 3
‘superpowers’ from this mix (and any others that they see in you!).
NOTE: This is such a vital step in the process because often it’s other people
who can see our gifts more clearly than we can see for ourselves.
Although, we want to lean into our more dominant profiles because it’s likely that the
‘superpowers’ of these profiles are where our strengths lie.
We also believe that no single, strengths-awareness tool can sum up the exact
strengths of every human on the planet so take what empowers you from this tool
and know that the strengths-awareness (and self-awareness) journey is ongoing!
The sun symbolises The Energiser because their energy is so bright that it uplifts
the people around them; when they shine, everyone else does too.
- Enthusiasm
- Positivity
- Charisma
- Communication
- Inspiration
The Energiser has an infectious enthusiasm, which uplifts the people around them.
The Energiser oozes positivity because they naturally see life through an optimistic,
‘half-glass-full’ lens. They’re outgoing, vibrant and have a compelling charm that can
win over people from all walks of life (they can find common ground and build rapport
with just about anyone). The Energiser is a fantastic communicator; they can
articulate their thoughts, beliefs or ideas with confidence and clarity. They also have
an incredible way of sparking change in others so you can count on them to inspire
you to take action or do something that excites you like the true activator they are.
The lightbulb symbolises The Innovator because they’re always coming up with new
ideas or identifying new opportunities to bring into the world.
- Future Orientation
- Courage
- Opportunity Recognition
- Ideation
- Strategy
The Innovator has one foot in the present and one foot in the future - always thinking
about what’s next or anticipating what’s to come. The Innovator isn’t afraid to
challenge the status quo and ask: “Why are we doing this? Or, “Why aren’t we doing
this?” The Innovator can identify opportunities that others may overlook (or reframe
challenges and turn them into opportunities). This means that they’re always coming
up with new or different ideas in response to the opportunities that they recognise.
Although, the Innovator doesn’t just come up with ideas… they’re also able to
develop a plan-of-attack to make their ideas a reality like a true changemaker.

According to Don Clifton, “talents are naturally recurring patterns of thought, feeling or behaviour.”
When a person invests in their talents, they become strengths. To simplify, we bring the two terms
together and describe strengths as: the positive things that a person thinks, feels or does, which are
effortless and natural to them. We also use the word ‘superpowers’ or ‘gifts’ as synonyms.
Both skills and strengths are positive things that a person thinks, feels or does. However, a person’s
strengths are built on their innate talents/gifts. In other words, they were born with these qualities.
They didn’t consciously ‘learn’ them. They’ve just always known how to do them (even if they can’t
explain it). Often, people use their strengths without thinking because it feels so effortless and
natural to them (kind of like autopilot). On the other hand, a person’s skills take much more energy
and effort to develop. This is because skills are something that people have to consciously think
about, learn how to do and practise over and over to get good at.
Our strengths, which are built on our natural talents/gifts are so ‘automatic’ to us that we often
overlook them and/or are not aware of them. This means that we need to utilise strengths-
awareness strategies and tools to help us cultivate an understanding of our strengths so that we can
design our work and life in alignment with them. Unlocking our unique combination of strengths is
also a crucial component of uncovering our purpose.
As our strengths are built on our innate talents/gifts (qualities that we’re born with), they don’t
change. Although, our awareness of our strengths can certainly change, especially if we engage with
different strengths-awareness tools. We may also find that different seasons of life bring out different
strengths and/or expressions of our strengths as well.
What if I feel like mySTRENGTHS are active in some situations, but not in others?
One of our favourite sayings at myDESIGN® is: Our interests are the vehicle for bringing our
strengths alive. Our interests are the things we love; the topics, activities, environments, etc. When
we enjoy something, our strengths automatically come online. However, when we’re not interested in
something, we’re not connected to it so our strengths don’t feel like they’ve been activated.
