I. RATIONALE
Hotels provide shelter, food, and similar services and goods on a commercial
basis, things that are customarily furnished within households but unavailable to people
on a journey away from home. Hotels have also taken on many other functions such as
serving as business exchanges, centers of sociability, places of public assembly, and a
vacation spot to name a few.
Tandag is growing city, despite being the provincial capital of Surigao del Sur, it still
lacks in many aspects and one of it is the amount of hotels in the city. There were a few
but the quality and the services they offer are very little. That being the case, having
another hotel will be of great help.
According to the Cities and Municipalities Competitive Index released by the
Department of Trade and Industry (DTI), Tandag City is ranked ninety-eight out of one
hundred thirteen in the size of local economy, ninety-third in accommodation capacity,
sixty-eight in employment generation, and seventy-sixth in the number of employed
population. Building a new hotel will open more jobs for the people during and even after
the hotel is done, hence answering the city’s unemployment problem along with improving
the life of the people. The hotel will also help the growth of local economy with its new
source of revenue and infrastructure. The designers have also take into consideration the
safety, comfort, and joy of the people who will stay in the hotel while designing so rest
assured that everything will be good.
To sum it all up, the construction of the new hotel will not only be beneficial to the
owners but for the people and the community as well. It will be very helpful for the growth
of the city.

a.) Objectives
The overall objective of this project is to:
1. Provide an accommodation and hospitality service.
2. Build an establishment that could be a new tourist spot in the area.
3. Create a place for vacation, relaxation and gathering within the busy city.
4. Create potential employment for locals.

II. PROJECT DESCRIPTION
The primary aim for the construction of the hotel aside from providing excellent
accommodation and services is to elevate the tourism industry of the city. The hotel is
expected to attract tourist and locals by its size, modern design, amazing view, amenities
and facilities which are not seen in other existing hotels in the area.
The proposed site of this project is located in 3rd Street - Barangay Mabua, Tandag,
Surigao del Sur. It is situated within the city proper and a few meters away from the
beach. Its plot area is a total of 6400 square meters and the total floor area of the said
hotel is 11576 square meters.
The building will be the biggest existing hotel in the city which will be standing in
16.7 meters tall and is comprise of four floors that features 165 well-appointed guest
rooms, a spa, an outdoor swimming pool, banquet hall, fitness center, sports center,
innovative function spaces, its own parking space and all equipment necessary for the
operation of the hotel.

III. TECHNICAL ANALYSIS
a.) Location Map
The proposed hotel is planned at 3rd Street - Barangay Mabua, Tandag, Surigao
del Sur, Caraga Region. It is situated within the city proper and a few walks away
from the local beach. The street is directly connected to the main road making it
easily accessible to any forms of land transportation.

c.) Size Area, Design, and Layout of the Building
The U-shaped hotel project to be erected at 3rd Street Barangay Mabua,
Tandag City is a four storey building that covers a total land area of 6400
square meters. The building will be the biggest hotel to be built in the area,
standing in 16.7 meters high with a total gross area of 11576 square meters.
It is a simple modern hotel design primarily made of concrete infused with
big glass walls and windows. The first floor will contain the lobby, the
administrative area, the food service area and some rooms, while the second
and third floor will be filled with more rooms and a food area, and the last floor is
where the gym, sports center and reception area can be found. All rooms are
equipped with its own toilet and bath room and the building is built with fire exits
for emergency purposes.
d.) Environmental Hazard Issues

The proposed project will particularly contribute to the air pollution, noise
pollution, the increase amount of solid waste, and traffic congestion during the
project construction but these are expected to be resolved after the project
completion.
The building itself poses no environmental issues of any kind as it is
designed to be, therefor causing no harm or danger to any structures nearby.
