NARRATIVE REPORT
“GULAYAN SA BAKURAN”

Backyard gardening is very essential in our current situation, as we all know that we are
in the midst of a pandemic and it affects the price of products, especially goods, and
some of us can’t afford it because of the absence of our source of income due to this
quarantine. It also relieves stress and anxiety because seeing the crops we planted grow
is so satisfying and having something like garden as source of food is so resourceful.
We had been told by our NSTP instructor, Michael Dan A. Caranza, to establish a garden
in our backyard, and I think that was a good idea for us to learn how to plant and also to
learn how important planting is. On the 3rd of March, this morning, I asked for help
from my friend to guide me because gardening is somewhat hard for me since I haven't
done it before. We started to collect some tools that we could use for gardening and
searched for a place around the house to do it, and we began to plant.

DOCUMENTATION
These are the tools that I used to cultivate soil for planting: a field shovel and a
handheld gardening fork.
Since we couldn’t find any place to do the gardening, we went to my aunt's place to do
it since she’s fond of doing it and we got so lucky because she has a vacant place that we
could use. I started to clean the area by pulling the grass from it.

After cleaning the area, I began plowing the soil so it would be finely suited for planting
a crop.
After that, I started planting the crop, which is the sweet potato leaves.

After doing so, I began watering the crops for them to live and grow.
