NARRATIVE

GULAYAN SA TUGKARAN
WEEK 1

For my land preparation, I used a hand trowel to dig plant holes and transplant
seedlings. I also removed the weeds and stacked them on the bunds or distributed them
out throughout the field. Finally, I verify that my field is ready for planting. Certain
activities must be taken while establishing a new date plantation to ensure the
plantation's long-term viability. One of these procedures is initial land preparation, which
must be completed prior to plant material transplantation (offshoots or tissue culture-
derived plants).

The goal of land preparation is to provide the soil conditions required for the successful
establishment of young offshoots or tissue culture plants obtained from the nursery.
Given the nature of the date palm, one cannot "save" on this procedure and hope for
long-term plantation viability.

WEEK 2

Preparing & finding a seeds

This is the second week of my community engagement, i went looking for vegetables.
First, I asked my cousin for pechay and green onions, and then I took lemon grass from
my cousin’s house. And then I went home and check what I brought. Then I search to
the internet on how to plant it properly .

Planting

My community service is now in its third week. April 12, 2022. It arrived this week, and I
started planting my veggies, which I had prepared the week before.

The first item I planted was lemon grass, followed by green onion and pechay. After I
finished planting everything, I watered all of my plants.

Plant care and maintenance

droughts, I sprinkle liberally, especially in the morning.

WEEK 5

I was ecstatic to see the "lemon grass" I had planted blooming and about to produce
fruit. Based on what we can see in the photo, it grew in a really healthy manner. It has a
lot of color on the leaves. The green onion, on the other hand, thrived, thank goodness
he didn't perish, and he was able to resist the changing weather. Unfortunately, the
pechay grows very beautiful , I was very happy of the results of my “gulayan sa
tugkaran” because that’s the first time experience I have mostly it is a project from
school. I am so thankful that I experienced this.

NARRATIVE

Our call time is 9:30 a.m. on June 6, 2022, and all members of group one must be
finished by 9:45 a.m. However, I got at school at 10:20 a.m., and most of the members
were waiting in the school's tiny gym. When Ma'am saw us, she became enraged
because we were late, and she assigned us to cut grass till we reached the Department
of Agriculture's gate. When 9:30 a.m. becomes 9:45 a.m., part of the groups two and
three are united. We began at that time and proceeded to the location where we would
perform or engage in community involvement. Ma'am Sapon guided us this morning,
and as soon as we arrived, they began entering their names for attendance. Mrs. Sapon
approached the other instructor. Ma'am Sapon instructed us to gather the cellophanes
beneath the tree, pile the dirt under the tree, and sweep the ground to collect all of the
leaves.

We're having a good time while working on our jobs, and we've worked together. Until
the end of the community participation, there was no dispute. Even though we are all
working on the task, we are discussing other subjects such as schoolwork and current
events. so on and so forth We collected old and discarded cellophane from the
surrounding region. We've finished stacking the earth beneath the tree, obtaining the
cellophane, and sweeping the leaves off the ground. We're all set and done with our
work, therefore they've decided to photograph the community participation for
documentation purposes. This morning, we shot photographs as a group with the
allocated instructor and guiding teacher. Even though it was just a half-day, I enjoyed
the community participation since it was not dull; we all laughed because of our
amusing classmates and group members. The most significant thing I learnt that day is
that collaboration is essential; team building by assisting one another would make the
process simpler and the results better.

I'd want to thank my parents and relatives for their help with this project. Thank you to
our professors, especially Ma'am Mayvelle, for allowing us to participate in such a
challenging endeavor and for providing us with unforgettable memories. Finally, thank
you for believing in me and faith that we can overcome this. Thank you so much for your
time.
