Detailed report :
NATURE-STUDY, as a process, is seeing the things that one looks at, and
the drawing of proper conclusions from what one sees. Its purpose is to
educate the child in terms of his environment, to the end that his life may be
fuller and richer. That is, it takes the things at hand and endeavors to
understand them, without reference primarily to the systematic order or
relationships of objects. It is informal, as are the objects which one sees. It is

entirely divorced from mere definitions, or from formal explanations in
books. It is therefore supremely natural. It trains the eye and the mind to see
and to comprehend the common things of life; and the result is not directly
the acquiring of science but the establishing of a living sympathy with
everything that is.
*We were asked to collect leaf samples of different trees and sketch
them in the given material.
*We were asked to observe different animals and write down their

Wide game
Name of the game: You can’t see me
Date :
Duration : 2hours
The object of this game is to allow the players the opportunity to pretend
they are animals, trying to hide from Man. The group walks a given
distance down a nature trail, while the leader explains the rules:
Each player is given time to hide along the trail. They may travel no more
than 15 feet from either side of the trail, and may use anything in the
natural environment to provide camouflage. The leader waits about five
minutes until all players are hidden. He walks the distance of the trail
once only, and tries to find as many players as possible. After his walk,
he calls out, and watches to see where all the successful ’animals’ hid
Notes: This game can be repeated many times, with different players
taking the role of the searcher. It is fun to talk about the hiding places that
were the most successful, and how animals might protect themselves
from predators
Sustained activity
Note : participate in troop/patrol sustained activity organized by the scout
master for a month in your community making use of scout skills.

Name of the activity : Temple service
Date:______
The first few hrs were peaceful due to not so heavy crowd. But after 6
pm it was utter chaos as people came in large numbers for dharshan.
But due to some skillful leadership by our fellow scouts ,we controlled
the crowd and made way for others to see . We split into two groups –
one group went outside the temple and other inside the temple. We
also cleared the way for people coming in vehicles to park in their cars in
the parking lot so as to avoid traffic. Also we made friends with many
people in the temple and the public to cooperated making job easier for
us.
Finally after 6 hours ,we were exhausted but as the scout promise says
we did our duty to god and felt happy at the end of the day..
