You are on page 1of 6

Activity No.

You are going to follow the concept map shown below, and you are to write the functions of each part of the
Nervous System.

Activity No. 2

You are going to identify what is being asked in the given test item.

1-3. What are the major parts of the nervous system?

4. This part consists of bundle of fibers that receives and sends messages between the body and the brain.

5. This part serves as the channel for signals in between the brain and the rest of the body.

6-8. What are the parts of the brain?

9. This organ serves as the organizer and distributor of information for the body and is considered as the
command center of the body.

10. This part of the brain controls our activity, imagination, and thoughts.

11. This part of the brain controls our posture, balance, and coordination

12-13. What are the two (2) types of nerves?

14. This is known as the basic unit of the nervous system.

15. It is the part of our nerve cell where it contains our genetic information or the nucleus of the cell.
Activity No. 3

You are going to fill in those missing parts of the Nervous System. Just follow the format being shown below.

Performance Task No. 1

You are going to identify what is being asked in the test item.

1. What division is composed of brain and spinal cord?

2. This lobe is responsible for controlling our voluntary motor activity, speech, and problem solving skills.

3. This part of the brain moves information to and from the lobes, and controls movements and memory.

4. This lobe is responsible for our process visual information from the eyes such as vision and color perception.

5. This part of the brain controls our posture, balance, and coordination.

6. What division is primarily composed of the many nerves that are found all over the body?

7. This part of peripheral nervous system is associated with the voluntary control of the body movements
8. This part of peripheral nervous system has two subdivisions namely the sympathetic nervous system and
the parasympathetic nervous system.

9. This autonomic nervous system relaxes our body and inhibits or slows many high energy functions of the
body known as the “rest & digest” Response.

10. This part of somatic nerve can be found around our head, face, and neck.

Performance Task No. 1 (For Section Topaz ONLY)

You are going to draw whether DNA or RNA. Then you will write down the feature (Structure, Function, &
Importance) of your chosen genetic material.

Activity No. 4

You are going to complete this comparison chart about DNA and RNA. You can choose your answer from the
choices inside the box.

Activity No. 5

You are going to choose from the choices inside the parenthesis that best fits to the statement.

1. (Mutations, Mutagens) are changes to a DNA sequence.

2. (Mutations, Mutagens) are agents that cause alteration in the DNA.
3. The type mutation in DNA or RNA wherein one single nucleotide base is deleted, added or altered is called
(point, frameshift) mutation.
4. Point mutation can lead to (substitution, frameshift) mutation.
5. (Nonsense, Missense) mutation results in the formation of a stop codon due to the substitution of one
nitrogen base.
6. When one nitrogen base of the DNA is replaced, and the result is an altered codon formation but does not
form a stop codon, it is classified as (nonsense, missense) mutation.
7. (Missense, Silent) mutation can be classified into conservative and non-conservative.
8. (Conservative, Non-conservative) mutation happens when the same properties of amino acid were formed
to the one that was supposed to be produced.
9. (Conservative, Non-conservative) happens when amino acid has produced different properties of protein.
10. (Missense, Silent) mutation happens when a nitrogen base is altered, but the same amino acid is
produced. Remember, many codons can code for the same amino acid.
11. (Point, Frameshift) mutation happens when the normal sequence of codons is disorganized by the insertion
or deletion of one or more nitrogen bases, given that the number of nitrogen bases added or deleted is not a
multiple of three.
12. (Cystic Fibrosis, Albinism) is a recessive inherited disorder caused by the deletion of the amino acid
phenylalanine.
13. (Cystic Fibrosis, Sickle cell anemia) is caused by a recessive disorder through a single substitution
mutation in the gene that is responsible for hemoglobin production.
14. (Cystic Fibrosis, Down syndrome) is related with slight retardation of cognitive ability. It is also
characterized with impairment of physical growth, body and facial features. It is caused by a 15. (Substitution,
translocation) during meiosis that transfers most of chromosome 21 onto chromosome 14.
Activity No. 5 (FOR CITRINE) 7 (FOR JADE AND JASPER) & 8 (FOR TOPAZ)

You are going to create a slogan which revolves to the theme “Change is constant and important, just as
evolution”. You will do this activity in a short bond paper.

Activity No. 6 (FOR CITRINE, JADE, AND JASPER ONLY)

You are going to fill in the missing letters of the word being described by the statement.
Performance Task No. 2 (FOR JADE & JASPER ONLY)

You are going to choose one Pokémon and its evolution and you are going to these following questions.

1. How did you come up with your answer?

2. What are your bases in identifying the Pokémon’s evolution?

3. Aside from the physical aspect, what can be the other possible bases in identifying its evolution?

Performance Task No. 2 (FOR CITRINE & TOPAZ) & 3 (FOR JADE & JASPER)

The students will be divided into four groups. And they are going to create a poster about biodiversity. They will
do these in a white cartolina

Activity No. 7 (FOR TOPAZ ONLY)

You are going to create a poster about 1 of the 4 theories of evolution

Activity No. 9 (FOR TOPAZ ONLY)

You are going to make an essay about the on how to avoid the mutations in our DNA.
