Originally Maharlika Village is a part of the old barrio Bicutan, this village was created in 1974 when

President Ferdinand Marcos set aside 30 hectares (74 acres) of the Armed Forces of the Philippines
Officers Village in Taguig to become a subdivision for Muslim Filipinos (Wikipedia,2017). It is the home of
many Moro elite and descendants of Sultans and Muslims so it is a village rich in culture and of course
because they have a different religion and practices it will be a challenge for us to communicate more
but it will serve as knowledge for both the students and children for sure. We also have a Muslim
classmate who are more than willing to share her culture and religion with us and we are also willing to
learn more from her.

Maharlika Village is actually known for danger these past years but actually Muslims are good people
and easy to approach more than we thought. They are friendly and strict to their principles which shows
in their personality, they also have great discipline. Muslims are not strangers to us Taguigeños, so we
want to prove that the village is actually peaceful and beautiful.

We want to help the community with all that studying that we did and as a student we want to educate
and teach the young ones, Not only academically but also teach them discipline, hard work, and
perseverance and at the same time we would like them to have fun with our activities and games. We
want to share what we have and what we learn in school so we decided to do teaching and feeding
programs which are what we believe achievable for young adults like us to help the community other
than assisting and helping them keep the place clean.

We believe that children at the young age need to be taught more and feed more because that will
affect them when they grow up (National Academic Press,2015). We want them to dream big and soar
high and be healthy because they will be the next generation whom will also support the community
someday. We would love to teach them ways to enjoy childhood by playing games and doing activities
instead of using gadgets which is the trend and the future of generation alpha (Iberdrola,2024). We
would also love to inform the children as well as their parents that exposing them to much to
technologies is bad for their eyesight and health and it also might affect their behavior growing up
(Wikipedia/Generation_Alpha,2015). Importance of screen time and discipline (WOHM,2023) in
household is also a must to keep the child more focus and it keep them away from harm and possible
danger of accidents.

We would also love to help prepare their meals and provide some foods and desserts by assisting the
personnel in the center. We want to share joy and happiness to the kids and encourage them to be
active in school and also motivate them and let them learn in their own paces while having fun which is
the essence of childhood. We would like to help improve the educational welfare and overall health of
the children which will significantly impact their ability and creativity while growing up.
