Đứng trước từ có chữ cái đầu tiên được phiên âm Đứng trước từ có chữ cái đầu tiên được phiên âm là 1
là 1 phụ âm. nguyên âm.
Ex: a man Ex: an old man
- Đi với danh từ đếm được số ít, không xác định.
Ex: He’s a doctor.
- Theo sau what/such/quite + danh từ đếm được
Ex: It’s such a boring book.
- Trước một số tên bệnh:
Ex: I’ve got a cold.

MẠO TỪ THE
Là mạo từ xác định, đi với danh từ đếm được (số Ex: The book that I borrowed from the library is
ít/số nhiều) và danh từ không đếm được interesting.
Đi với tên các nhạc cụ Ex: He likes playing the violin.
The + adjective → chỉ tầng lớp người Ex: The rich should help the poor.
Dùng cho so sánh hơn nhất Ex: She’s the tallest girl in my class.
Đi với từ chỉ số thứ tự: the first, the second, the Ex: He’s the first man to enter the room.
last …
Dùng với tên 1 số nước như: the United Ex: He’s currently living in the United Kingdom.
Kingdom, the United States, the Philippines,….
Dùng với các vật thể duy nhất, hệ thống giao Ex: the Sun, the London Underground

Dùng với thứ được ngầm hiểu giữa cả người nói Ex: Give me the book on the table.
