Method of application: Strong solvents in this material may loosen old residual paint and cause blocking of
equipment. To eliminate possible blocking of equipment during spraying, clean the
equipment with Methyl Ethyl Ketone before use and before extended periods of downtime,
following supplier’s safety cautions. Moisture condensation on epoxy, which is not
thoroughly dry, will adversely affect its cure. On new concrete, form release agents, curing
compound, salts hardeners and other foreign matter will interfere with adhesion and must
be removed by sand-blasting, shot blasting, mechanical scarification or suitable chemical
means. Holes and cracks should be repaired with Dutch Boy® Heavy Duty Epoxy Putty or
with Dutch Boy® Epoxy Primary Putty, sanded lightly and then primed.

Application condition: Temperature (air, surface, material):

55°-95°F or (13°C-35°C) (At least 5°F above the dew point)
Relative humidity: 85 % maximum.

Mixing Instructions Stir both epoxy base and catalyst separately and thoroughly, then mix together and again
stir thoroughly.
Induction time : The mixture must stand for at least one hour before using.
Do not mix more than can be used in a working day since any remaining mixed base will
not be applicable the next day.

Application Tools This product may be applied by any of the following recommended methods:

1. Airless spray: Pressure: 2500PSI Filter: 60mesh Tip: 0.015˝

1/4˝ to 3/4˝ nap.

2. Conventional spray:
Gun: Bink 18 gun or equivalent equipment, Fluid nozzle 66 psi, Air nozzle 69 psi
Atomization pressure: 80psi, Fluid pressure or equipment: 20-25 psi

3. Brush: China bristle

4. Roll: Phenolic core/ solvent resistant

Notes :
1. Use SPIKED ROLLER to eliminate and burst bubbles, pinholes and other pockets of gas that may be present in
the screed and to help level and homogenize the floor screed .
2. Spiked Shoes allows the applicator to walk on the wet epoxy to achieve a uniform coverage .

Special notes on

Epoxy as a floor paint: Epoxy would provide an excellent floor paint especially for industrial areas subjected to
chemicals or mechanical stress.
Special care is necessary (more so in old floors) for adequate and proper surface
preparation. On new concrete, form release agents, curing compound, salts hardeners and
other foreign matter will interfere with adhesion and must be removed by sand-blasting,
shot blasting, rotating sander resurfacer and mechanical scarification or suitable chemical
means.

Sand blasting is usually recommended, vacuum blasting and grit blasting would work as
well, and furthermore it is recommended to:
1. Apply diluted epoxy masonry primer 9050.
2. Apply two coats of 9200 diluted 25% each with 9020.
3. If bubbles show up wait for a few minutes then pass the roller in a light and smooth way
once or twice if needed. (Soak roller in solvent for 1 minute before use, and then remove
excess solvent).

IMPORTANT NOTE: It’s very important that surface porosity be tested by spraying water before sealing with
Dutch Boy® Sealer 9050 since surface porosity may differ from one surface to another.
The more compact the surface is the lower the porosity and therefore the more dilution
needed (150-200%). On the other hand, if surface has a high porosity, then dilute 100%
with thinner 9020. Dilution could even reach up to 500% in some cases. Once degree of
porosity has been established priming can be commenced.

Precautions: Combustible; keep away from heat and open flames.

Close container after each use.
Protect from freezing.
Do not take internally
Use with adequate ventilation or wear respiratory protection (NIOSA/MSHA TC 23°C OR
Equivalent)
Keep out of reach of children.
Avoid contact with skin and eyes.
If ingested seek medical attention immediately.
Keep container closed when not in use.
Do not transfer contents to other containers for storage.

Clean up: Clean tools and area with Special epoxy thinner 9020.
