REPORTING
Thank you, Chloe, so, yun, education in the Philippines has undergone several changes
from the primitive times, to pre colonial period up to the Spanish era. In 333 years na
sinakop tayo ng mga kastila, madami ang nangyari, especially in terms of education. So
naging accessible yung education sa mga Filipino through the enactment of the
educational decree of 1863. Kasi, dagdag ko lang no, during early years of the
colonization of Spaniards, only the privileged one, the Maharlika, and the ilustrados
were allowed to study. Maharlika means freeman, o yung mga mandirigma noong
unang panahon.
revolution.
kailangang mag established ng at least two primary schools in each town, one for boys
and one for girls, kasi separate sila. And these schools were under the responsibility of
the municipal government.
And yung normal schools are headed by Jesuits, mga pari, so they develop a school and
Kaya relevant yung feminism issue kasi nga girl are intended to be staying
at home, doing house chores.
But, fortunately, At the latter part of Spanish period noong taong 1875, normal schools
for women teachers were also established, nabigyan na ng opportunity na yung female
teacher mag practice ng pag tuturo.
