applications to encompass the wider functions and objectives that art fulfills in
society, culture, and personal experiences. The function of art examines the
wider meaning and impact of art in diverse contexts, whereas functional art
focuses on the harmony of form and function within specific items. Example of

3. Art is a mimesis because it evolves in the idea that art involves the imitation or
representation of elements from the real world. Example of art as a mimesis is a
painting of dog. The artist uses their skill to mimic the form of the dog.

communication and cultural expression. But not every work of art serves a

IV. Essay (10 pts.)

Write an essay consisting of 150-300 words on the topic "My Concept of Beauty".

My Concept of Beauty

My concept of beauty base more on the looks. It’s inevitable because attention
can easily be caught first by the eyes. When I see something beautiful, my mind will
lead to the thought that that specific thing is worth of my focus. Beauty shines in any
way that can easily be recognized. Physical beauty matters if we first saw something. It
gently encompasses harmony, color, and attractiveness. From the beautiful flowers,
majestic sceneries, and landscapes, it can be easily appreciated when it’s beautiful.

Not too long, I realized that beauty lies within what we see in our naked eye. It
doesn’t end with what we see, but also what we feel looking at it and how we interpret
its meaning. Like humans, beauty goes beyond appearance. If a person is always
smiling, they’re beautiful in my eyes even if I say that they weren’t blessed with physical
attribute. If a person has a positive attitude, it makes them attractive. It’s quite cool that
sometimes, something that isn’t beautiful for others is beautiful to me and vice versa.
That simply means that we define beauty differently.

In the end, beauty for me is about kindness, meaning, realness combines, and
physical is just a plus point. It’s not just about what we see but also the feeling it gave to
us that makes our perception wonderful. My concept of beauty evolves as it was
affected how I understand what I see. Recognizing beauty in everything makes living
harmonius.
